The chef and staff are extremely friendly and make the experience feel personal and special. The atmosphere is fantastic very chill, intimate, and thoughtfully designed. Watching the chef prepare each course right in front of you adds to the magic and makes the meal even more memorable.
Be prepared to plan ahead. It can take months to secure a reservation, and this is definitely a top-tier dining experience, so it comes at a higher price point. That said, it is worth every single penny.
If you’re looking for a top-tier omakase experience in Milwaukee, this place is a must. An absolute gem.
Walking into the restaurant was an intimate setting and I immediately realized why it was so hard to book. There are 10 available seats that create an L shape around the chefs. We were greeted by the serving staff immediately even though they were finishing up the previous round. The drinks were incredible! All 10 guests dine with the crafted menu simultaneously. The music was a vibe- classic R&B that had you bopping a long.
Executive Chef, Ray Boonyapituksakul, made greeted each guest and asked about allergies. We all did a round of sake courtesy of the house and the chef cheersed every guest. He introduced each dish and watching him work with each course was like watching an artist carefully craft a masterpiece.
The meal was absolutely phenomenal. The flavors were packed. Every single item on the menu was fresh and of the highest quality. He made suggestions on how to eat each course (spoon, chopsticks, fingers, like a shot) which was helpful. I cannot tell you a favorite item, but I can tell you every item was my favorite.
At the end of the night they had 2 a la carte options for 2 extra pieces of sushi. The last one served had glitter and left the restaurant sparkling capturing the joy each person felt.
I experienced a luxury that I can never forget.
Thank you so much for sharing your art.
Soooo….the food was amazing, the presentation amazing, the atmosphere and music amazing, and the staff amazing. We of course purchased a t-shirt for our son.
We will be back, that is if we can get a reservation! Highly recommend. Thank you so much
None of the chef crew said hello until we sat down 20 minutes later. Lack of etiquette.
Main chef is unclear and short with his announcements of creations served. Lack of experience.
The creations were good. As a full package, I would say $250 per couple, not $421.00 with tip per couple X 3 couples.
Improve the new guest arrival experience, deliver drinks while waiting and watching a bar clean up, improve clarity and add story telling to each piece, than maybe will consider going back. 3 stars for effort.
Staff was friendly and attentive as soon as we arrived. The restaurant only sits 10-15 people so very cozy environment and definitely enjoyed the atmosphere and ability to be right there with the chefs while they were preparing the food.
We did the 14 course and my friend and I after each item was served felt like each one was somehow better than the last.
They had a great selection of sake and other cocktails and the hosts made great recommendations or provided insight on favorites of different staff members.
Even as someone who enjoys sushi who used to be a picky eater, there were many things on the menu I had never tried before but really loved. The food was fun, fresh, high quality and the touch of the head chef there making your food and interacting with you, being able to see the detail while making each course is a great added touch.
The chef was attentive, always asking our thoughts, providing insight on what we were eating and I enjoyed after the meal that he asked what our favorite thing was, which frankly was a hard question to answer where many of the courses were competing for that spot.
I personally enjoyed the 90’s hip hop (don’t worry karens, it’s the radio edits) and thought it added a unique touch and was not too loud as to hinder conversation.
If you’re lucky enough to get a reservation here it is absolutely a must go and I certainly hope to go back in the future.
For people trying to get a reservation, make sure to I sign up for email notifications on Resy. A spot opened up yesterday for today and was glad to be able to hop on it. This place is going to continue to be busy and for good reason.
1033 Team, I wish you continued success and I’m glad I was able to experience what the hype was about, it was well worth it and well deserved.
