It has been awhile since the last time I visited this place. The place is clean with okey parking lot – weekend can be abit hassle. Service is good and the food still tasty and at reasonable price. They well known for their sponge cake and the banh bao. But came early so it still baking them. Glad that stopped by and tasted good old food too.

This is an update since I have been eating at this place for years. The dishes are very authenticly southern Chinese varieties. If you love Cantonese noodles, this IS the place. My mom introduced me to this place in the late 1990s…This is my go-to Cantanose favorite place- they also have a couple of Nam Vang dishes (Cambodia noodles?). Oh I forgot to mention anither fav dish is ‘Tsao kweh’– so good.

I had the noodle soup and it was just NOT good. The pork in my soup was very under cooked. When I tell them the pork is raw, the owner told me it was supposed to be like that. I had to throw it away, I hate to waste money on food like this.

Probably one of the oldest noodles shop in Little Saigon! Always great and consistent!

This place is not good as it use to be. I use to enjoy coming here especially on cold day for their rice porridge and chinese donut. Their porridge is bland and their portion is small now. I understand the price increase but don’t cut back on the food. I order chicken porridge got mostly porridge.
There is a short lady maybe in her middle 50. She has the worst attitude when taking our order. I show her the picture of what I wanted from my phone and she does not know what it is and this picture is from her restaurant too. She just seem clueless about taking our order but it’s just her unfriendly attitude that got to me.

Pricing practice is bait and switch style. Quote one price. Charge a different price. Then when customer inquired about the price difference, the deceiving mumbo jumbo began. No, no matter how good the food is, we cannot tolerate a deceiving business practice. There are many other food choices!

This is a small and clean restaurant with really good food and nice customer service. Everything (fried rice with shaken beef, porridge, beef stew and avocado shake) we had was good…hot and tasty. I’ve been coming here over the last 10 years and the quality has been consistent. Because it’s on Bolsa Ave, the traffic and parking can be very frustrating…just fyi.

I’m not a fan of this place.

My friend’s fiance apparently loves this place because of their rice cakes with eggs and porridge. I tried their rice cakes with eggs and it was bland with the sauce. I ordered their house special fried rice since my other friends had ordered the house special noodles. Their house special fried rice was terrible. It just tasted like the rice was scrapped off a burnt pan just like when I cook fried rice for myself LOL. The veggies tasted a bit soggy like they were from a frozen bag. I think I could do a better job cooking the fried rice. The noodles were okay.

I didn’t know there was a restaurant inside this bakery because the sign outside just says Kang Lac Bakery. Parking can be bad but for some odd reason there was a lot of empty spots. Not sure if I will return given how bad my entree was. I had to pour soy sauce into my dish to hide the burnt flavor.

I had the noodle soup and it was just NOT good. The fish in my soup was very under cooked. I had to take Pepto bismo right after eating that small piece to prevent any stomach problem. I hate to waste money on food like this. Customer service was nah as well. Not sure why they don’t thank their customers either.
