The only dish I liked was the Dinuguan, I’ve had better though. Both their Shanghai and Vegetable Lumpias had no filling. Maybe whoever was making the Lumpias that day didn’t want to, lol. The Lechon was all fat, but crispy.
When I went, there were two homeless guys out front. Just walk by them, they won’t bother you. I think the owner gives them breakfast.
The lady that took my order was nice and helpful. If you want a quick fix on some Filipino food, go here.

The food here is really good! Everything is already made so all you have to do is tell them if you want rice or noodles and what meat you want.

When the original merlina owner food the was a must now so so ladies can be rude and no more scoop rice with gravy but it’s a childhood spot that will always hold a special place in my tummy.

Very good Filipino food and very convenient for me, as I live two stones throws away! Lechon (roast pork) is great and what they are known for. Ask for the free dishes of vinegar to dip.

After reading the mixed reviews we decided to give it a try here. Not even worth it! Food was bland and old. The guisantes looked so good with the red bell peppers and peas! We get home and I had 1 slice of red pepper and barely any peas. Just all pork and no flavor at all… so disappointing. My bf got beef stew and roast pork, which was bland as well. We also got a tomato onion on the side. It had white fungus all over it! Old bland food. Do yourself a favor and go Elena’s.

Food is pretty good here. It’s a Filipino restaurant that specializes in Filipino cuisine. Roast pork is very good and cheaper that Golden Coin. I would recommend this restaurant if you want to try authentic Filipino food. Try a Friday or Saturday lunch. It off the beat, from the main throughway in Whitmore Village going towards North Shore, and right outside Waihiawa. Seating is limited and so is parking but it’s usually not a problem.

THE WORST FILIPINO RESTAURANT EVER. FOOD IS OLD AND NO TASTE AT ALL. VOWED NOT TO TAKE OUT FOOD FROM THIS EATERY. WAITRESS IS NOT FRIENDLY. PLACE IS OLD AND LOOKS UNTIDY. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. PLEASE EAT AT ELENA’S, THELMA’S, MAX’S RESTAURANTS IN WAIPAHU, JULIEZ IN KAPOLEI. AGAIN, DO NOT EVER BUY FOOD AT MERLINA’S KITCHEN IN WAHIAWA OR ELSE YOU WILL REGRET AS PER MY WORST EXPERIENCE!

I like Merlina’s they have the best in my opinion Lechon & other dishes prices so far are very reasonable for me anyway. I love the wild bittermelon dish the make but it’s not often available. You just have to try it.

I actually love their food but their night time cashier has boi customer service skills, she’s rude and has the personality of a wet mop! Every single time I’ve gone there while shes working she is so rude!
Other than that I love the place. Food is excellent! Place is always clean!
