Hidden gem of a sub shop. It definitely beats any of the national chains! Stopped around 3pm and service was excellent and attentive. The spicy Italian was great where the warm heat hits after. The Cool Ranch was very good the crushed Doritos added the perfect crunch to the sandwich.

The subs are AMAZING — fresh bread, high-quality meats, generous portions, and everything tastes incredibly fresh. You’re not getting a skimpy sandwich here. Every bite is packed with flavor.
It’s hard to find places that are consistent, clean, and still feel locally owned and personal — but Gateway Subs nails it. If you’re anywhere near Bradenton, Palmetto, or Ellenton, this spot is absolutely worth stopping by.

I stopped into Gateway Subs in Ellenton and had one of the best experiences I’ve had at any sandwich shop. The manager was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and clearly takes pride in the place. The service was top‑quality from start to finish, and the sandwiches were honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. Fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Absolutely worth the stop. Highly recommend.

Tried the cool ranch rider featuring buffalo chicken lunch meat and cool ranch Doritos. Enjoyed the hot peppers as well! I ran into Gateway Subs today at my gym where they were giving out samples. Mark was super friendly and took the time to tell me about their shop and where they’re located. I tried the Italian sub and it was honestly really good — fresh, flavorful, and made me want to go check out the actual store. Definitely planning to stop by soon. Honest review, Came here 4 times. First time was a decent sub. 2nd time was rushed and the sub did not taste fresh. I thought it was just a bad day and came back to try again. 3rd time, came on a Sunday and only 1 person working and line of people and after waiting 15 mins we walked out. 4th time i ordered 2 subs and they were out of Ham and i got a tuna and it tasted like it was a week old and so dry and once again the lettace was brown looking and the sweet peppers had no flavor to them. Nothing about this place is fresh or good and 30$ for 2 small sub combos is crazy for nothing fresh. Thought this would be upgrade from subway or jersey mikes but it’s not.

We ordered 6 different subs, and every single one was delicious! We especially loved the chicken Caesar wrap, the spicy Italian, and da beast. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town for hockey!

Staff was amazing! Landon greeted me with a smile and warm welcome. When I told him this was my first time visiting he was very thorough and explaining the menu, the process and did a great job at recommending items. He and the other staff were very efficient. The only Area of opportunity was the dining area needed to be cleaned. Otherwise we will definitely be back! Food was DELICIOUS! Great job!
