I’m not sure what is happening to Downtown. I’m not sure if it’s just the generation that is running it or if all the fun got sucked out after Covid. I was there when the Boxer opened all those years ago. And man! It has changed. Where did the live music go? Where did all the quirky and fun go? The new layout of the Boxer made it hard to get service. And I could count the people; it was not busy. The bartenders were on one side. Then, when one would round the corner to the other side, she would grab her phone off the charger and go back to the opposite side of the wall. The U-shape doesn’t make sense if the bartenders are going to be on one side. The pool tables are nice, so that was a plus. The environment was so quiet, though. I know Mardi Gras just happened, but yeesh. It just isn’t the same Downtown. The staff didn’t feel welcoming. No smiles, no greetings. Just meh.

We came in at 2 pm on Sunday. the vibe was super chill bourbon bar, and we loved it. Wait staff was very friendly and we had great conversation with the owner. We came back at 9pm, and it was a totally different vibe. We saw all kinds of people and had a great time. I would definitely come back next time I’m in Houma.

This was my go to spot right out of college. My friends, husband, then boyfriend, and i had many a good times, good drinks and dart games. When we went often there were live art night and house bands. I know its changed management since, but bands do still play here regularly.

By far the best bar in Houma ever! Amazing life music and the coolest best by far bar tender Brittney!!! We had a lot of fun tonight! Highly recommended and must see place in town! Beer selection on draft was amazing as well as atmosphere!

Nice place for all age groups, great music was played all night, had plenty of room for pool league teams to hang around comfortably and take score, great drink prices…just need to get a light for one of the pool tables and good to go!

I really like the bar itself. The owner is awesome too. Only I don’t really appreciate being called racial remarks and a fraud by their manager. Apparently it’s ok to be a racist hipster but not an authentic human. But hey to each their own.

Most taps downtown, super friendly service, fantastic live music. Not to be missed on a Wednesday, which is Jam Night. Local beers and local folks, can’t ask for more!
