Party of 4 went for dinner the Thursday evening of Juneteenth weekend. We were planning to hike the Great Range Traverse starting 4am Friday, so needed an early and good dinner. Got here around 5:30pm and had a great meal. I had the hot chocolate with whipped cream, and the pesto penne. Friends also had the alfredo pasta (linguini) and the chicken breast. I had the soup of the day which happened to be chicken tortilla which was great. We shared beer battered shrimp and dumplings for the table. Total including tips and taxes came to just under 200 bucks. We had some leftovers which made for a nice little leftovers meal at 3am on Saturday when we got back to Rooster Comb Inn from the hike. The restaurant staff was very warm and friendly. There were some large groups (5-6 people) too and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Nice views down the road if you sit on the patio outside.

I know most people probably read this all the time , but believe me when I say this the burgers here both meat n veg are definitely worth the stop. Haven’t had a good burger like that in a long while.
Added this place to my must stop list for whenever I travel north.

Plus the staff was super attentive and friendly.

This is our second time eating at Ausable Inn. Today we tried the wings, which are possibly the best wings in our area! The blue cheese dressing was obviously homemade as well. We got Fish and Chips and Montreal brisket Sandwich, both were specials. Big portions and delicious. Server was friendly and attentive. We will be back, as we live in the area. Does get busy in summer and fall but definitely a must try.

Our favorite place to eat in the High Peaks region. The atmosphere is cozy and quiet. The food is always fresh and delicious. Their Hungarian mushroom soup is what I would want for my last meal.
We love the Ausable Inn so much, we asked them to host our wedding reception! Ellie and her team made everything seamless for us. They are such wonderful people who put love into their cooking. You feel like you are being nourished and served by family.
A must-stop when in Keene Valley!

I traveled to the USA to hike Mount Marcy and stayed nearby. On my way back to base camp, I decided to find some coffee. After driving about 40 miles, I found a place that offered food after 5:00 P.M. I expressed my need for coffee to a friendly lady there. She made an exceptional coffee for me without charging for the extra mug. I also enjoyed some fantastic, fresh food and a small local beer, all free of charge. The prices were high, but the food was definitely worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant if you ever find yourself in the USA.

I haven’t been here for a few years and I was curious if anything has changed. Not much, it’s still there. Nice, cozy and very warm atmosphere. It used to be a very popular place with my friends. I ordered fries (I don’t eat meat on Fridays) and mushroom soup. Hungarian style. This soup is famous among Polish hikers and climbers, so I was curious what it tastes like after all these years – I ate two of them!!!! While eating, I remembered the good old times in my homeland when my mother, grandmother and my aunts fed me… you must try it. I know they also have rooms for rent, but I never asked about the price. I highly recommend this place!!!!

Tiny bar available and loved the outdoor seating. Mary, the very friendly server, was the best!
She helped me pick a glass of Red wine to go with my salad with a medium small portion of steak on it, both were about average but the Hungarian mushroom soup to start was way above.
They had a great selection of non- meat options, that were tempting, but was in the mood for a steak. Not a fancy place but fun cozy spot to get a decent meal,at a decent price$42 w/tax, but w/o tip.

This place was amazing! We had dinner every night that we were in the area. 3 nights in a row. Service was excellent and so friendly. I hope to get back next time I’m in the area. Food was very good. I have a gluten allergy and they were able to accommodate me with a lot of options. I was even able to have an Apple crumble with ice cream for dessert.
