Love coming here when I’m in the area. I can never not come here and get the poutine! It’s my go-to almost every time. Crispy fries, melty cheese, shaved corned beef and gravy. Perfect every time! Powder Bear Hazy IPA by Last Chair Brewery is always top notch on tap! Vanessa and Cooper are always friendly, attentive and personable! Atmosphere is low key, chill and comfortable.

Went on New Year’s Eve expecting a wait and slow service and was pleasantly surprised with neither. Fish and chips was a giant, tasty portion, and my pear salad with salmon was very good. Espresso martinis were very strong. And the prices were more than reasonable for a restaurant near a ski resort.

We have been customers of the pub for 8 years. Our experience this evening was unfortunately extremely uncomfortable. Our waitress was not clear or agreeable and she was very short with us. We ordered a beer flight advertised as $4 for happy hour. The waitress served the flight, but could not tell us which beers were which. When we asked her, she said she would have to check with the bartender. She had no idea. So we replied okay. After placing my order, I inquired regarding the veterans day special which the waitress failed to share. Since I had already ordered my meal, it was too late to order the special. We ate our meal of excellent fried fish and an average salmon special. I asked if they would consider the courtesy of a dessert since they didn’t tell us about the special and I did enjoy a small slice of mousse pie. The waitress took forever to return to us, even though there was almost no one in the restaurant. She had a very curt and unfriendly attitude with an extremely negative aura that was very uncomfortable to be around. When one goes out to a restaurant, one is looking for a relaxed and comfortable evening. Since she took so long to return to our table, we did not have the chance to order any additional food or beverages, which results in a loss of money to the establishment. Upon receiving the bill, we noticed that we were charged $16 for an advertised $4 happy hour special. We asked them to correct the bill, but they responded by sending a manager who said that the waitress declared that we said we were unhappy with the restaurant as if we were difficult customers. Up until that point we did not make any complaints. We only asked questions. The manager came over and began telling us that we were wrong and that we upset the waitress. We said nothing negative to the waitress whatsoever. The manager explained that although the advertisement says $4 for the flight of four beers, it is $16 and that is the final price. We agreed to pay but explained the questionable advertising. In regard to the waitress with the angry demeanor, the manager said the customer is not always right. I requested that he bring the waitress over so that we can have a conversation and he refused. I explained that we were customers who were very happy with the establishment for 8 years and that this was an unusual occurrence for us, that perhaps the waitress deserved better training in customer service. He proceeded to begin an argument with my husband who is an attorney and is very well aware of the legal ramifications of what is advertised in restaurants. Unfortunately, this experience left a very bitter taste in our mouths. We paid our bill in full and we’ll be sure to alert our neighbors and friends of our negative experience here tonight.

I ate there today. I have been a customer for two years. The food has been ok…
Tonight, I ordered tenders…deep fried…
Burnt…sweet potatoes…old….dirty fork and knife..I will not ever go there ever…
Dirty utensils…makes me think about the food cleanliness…The bartender really needed to not charge me..
$2.75 For a seltzer Costs .01cents
It is the only place close to the mountain…or anywhere else..they is why..
For drinkers …everything is good…for good food..Not….
Apparently is I hard to find good help anywhere..
After reading the other reviews..

We love eating here after skiing. Fiddlehead IPA and a soft pretzel. Burgers are great too. Tonight we had live Irish music too.

Building was cold in temperature, loud atmosphere, was not clean examples: dirty sticky table, window with ketchup? on it, menus and silverware with gunk. The appetizer was a hard pretzel. In the past Salt Hill has served amazing pretzels. Was this a bad day or have they gone down hill with everything? When food arrived at the table it was not what was ordered. When this was pointed out to the server, she was unpleasant and acted as I had 3 heads. It was very loud. Maybe she thought I said one thing and never confirmed? I asked for a veggie burger in place of meat. This was an option on the menu. I received the meat. Eventually she did offer to bring the correct item. I declined because of all the reasons above. The food that stayed at the table had cold hard French fries.
Hopefully this was a one off and others will have a better experience.

The food, the vibe, the service are all good here. We were around for 2 days and had dinner here both nights. The cocktails are really good. If it’s cold outside, sit by the fire out on the deck for a cozy dinner experience. They have ample parking and an outdoor deck too!

5 minute walk from The Lake Inn at Mount Sunapee.
Nice bar atmosphere.
Pub tables and a bar area to sit.
We ordered the brussel sprouts, which were really good and my bestie ordered the mac and cheese.
I personally wanted to give it one star – but she said it was okay and I am taking her thought into consideration when writing this review.
People who read my reviews know that I love my mac and cheese and I personally can make a excellent Mac and cheese, so I am a bit judgy when it comes to buying mac and cheese at restaurants.
They made it sound good on the menu however it was watery and the cheese was not sticking to the noodles.
There was not one bit of stretch cheese when pulling up on the noodles and if you eat macaroni and cheese you understand what I’m saying.
Very bland and just not good. Maybe it was just a bad night for mac and cheese, but I kind of think not.
Andrea was our server and she was fine, however I think she could smile a little more.
She keeps this straight sort of mean mugging face and having been a bartender / waitress for years- I somewhat get it, however it was really hard to see an attractive young lady waitressing / bartending not smiling more.
The drinks were good and the pints were good, prices were Fair.
They close at 9:00 p.m., so prepare to be ready to leave around 9:00 p.m.

Solid spot for irish pub food and drinks after a day of skiing. They have a good amount of beers on tap. Prices are reasonable, and portions are a great size. The poutine is great!

8/20/24—It was our last night in New Hampshire, after spending a grand time at an Airbnb on the shores of Sunapee Lake. Now, we’d heard tell of a fine Irish pub not far from where we were staying. And seeing as my husband’s half Irish himself, we figured it’d be a shame not to give it a go.
Now, truth be told, Irish food isn’t usually my cup of tea, but for the sake of harmony—I’d dragged him off to visit President Franklin Pierce’s Homestead earlier, after all—I thought, why not? So off we went, just a wee drive from the lake house.
We arrived at the pub around 2:40 in the afternoon, and it was still quiet, the kind of calm before the evening storm, I’d say. They handed us the menu, and some tunes filled the air. My husband’s eyes lit up; he knew the songs, but as for me, I hadn’t a clue who was singing.
I settled on a hamburger and nachos—something simple, you know. But wouldn’t you know it, both dishes arrived at the same time. Not to waste good food, I packed the nachos up to take home. And let me tell you, finding decaf coffee on the menu was a blessing! It’s the small comforts that matter, isn’t it?
The pub itself was spacious, and I could just imagine the craic that must go on there once the sun goes down. But we’re not the sort to be out late, so that part of the story remains a mystery to us. Still, I’d say this place is worth a visit, for sure. And, we’ll be back someday, God willing.
