Bayou Bugs & BBQ is a Mom & Pop food establishment that specializes in Authentic family Cajun recipes and my husband’s AMAZING Southern BBQ! We have homemade sides such as Momma’s Tater Salad, Kickin’ Baked beans, and Mamaw’s Green Beans. Our Cajun dishes are Jay’s FAMOUS Gumbo, Nawlins’ Red Beans & Rice, Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya! Our lunch items include: Shrimp Po Boy’s, Jay’s Gumbo, Pulled Pork plates, Baby Back Rib plate, Jalapeño & Regular Smoked Sausage, Smoked Cajun Boudin, Cajun boiled crawfish!!, fried catfish “Not only do we want to fill your tummy, but we want to fill your Soul with our Southern Hospitality!”

The type of food that makes you fantasize about small town living . Makes you want to pull up a chair and chat like old friends, big servings, juicy meat and a BBQ sauce so sticky sweet you don’t care if it ruins your shirt. Would recommend and go again. Inside ordering and festival picnic style seating outside.

Loved this place when they were based on Van Alstyne/Anna, and I love when they come back into town! We’ve used them to cater holidays in the past too. Everything is amazing. The meat is tender and smokey, nothing needs sauce because it’s so juicy. I never care about sides, but their baked beans are so stinkin good. The sweetest people too!

Stopped by Bayou Bugs & BBQ yesterday and had a great time. It’s still early in crawfish season, so they were on the smaller side, but they were still tasty and hit the spot.
The Gulf shrimp were delicious — seasoned just right and cooked perfectly. And the boudin balls? Absolute win. Those alone will have us coming back, especially my stepson who was all about them.
We wrapped it up with bread pudding. It was good, but I was hoping for just a little more kick from the rum sauce.
The whole place has that fun, authentic Cajun vibe — perfect timing with Mardi Gras around the corner. We’ll definitely be stopping by more as the season rolls on!

The crawfish was excellent! We love super spicy crawfish & although it wasn’t too spicy (had a little kick), it made up for it in flavor! Would definitely travel an hour again to come eat here.

Wife and I just got some crawfish, boiled gulf shrimp, gumbo, and potato salad to go and it was amazing!! We are kinda picky on mud bugs especially being from the coast now living in North Texas and these bugs were absolutely where u want the flavor and spice to be, u can tell there is Cajun roots doing the cooking! On top of the excellent food, and I mean all of the food was excellent, the guy working there was super friendly and cool to talk to! It’s really nice knowing this quality of seafood is available so close to us and we will be there probably again tomorrow! Can’t recommend enough!

Worst food I’ve ever had! It is NOT homemade which the lady claimed it was! The place smelt terrible, but the people were so kind! However, this didn’t make up for the bland, boxed, cheap, poor quality, under seasoned food! I’m not sure who’s eating here and giving 4-5 stars, but they must not have tastebuds because my goodness, YUK!!!

The crawfish was really good. The red beans and rice was some of the best i have had. It was my husbands first time trying crawfish, he loved it. His favorite was the gumbo. Everyone was very attentive. We cant wait to go back and try the BBQ.
