Stopped here after a wine tasting and paint evening at a winery near by. Nice place. Bartender was kind, funny and greeted us promptly. They had pool and slot machines for activities and plenty of beer and seltzer to choose from! Various liquors too but I like the variety of seltzer/beer.

Seems OK. When I opened the door the stench of cigarettes overwhelmed me as if it was 1979. I’ve never taken up the hobby of smoking, and to each their own, but I didn’t need to reek of smoke, so I opted to move on. I do believe that bars should have the ability to not be governed by Big Government, and that if they want smoking in their establishment then go right ahead. But, as patron of dive bars, which I enjoy to have a cervesa periodically, I have the option of heading elsewhere, which I did…

St. Croix tavern is your standard Wisconsin bar. They have a full bar, darts, pull tabs, and pool. What more could you want? The owner and bartender is a nice guy and this place has live music pretty frequently. Prices are standard for a bar in the area. It’s a clean place with few frills. Just good drinks and good conversations.

We went out to hear live music for the first time in a year and it was so great!! People were enjoying themselves, and listening to the Brian Naughton band. So good live music, friendly crowd, with a small town intimate feeling. I’d go back again.

To sum it up it’s a bunch of older people that get pissy when you buy pull tabs out of the box they’re playing. Then you have a guy with his dog in there running off any new blood for the bar.
