Tonight, we decided to visit The Coney before Indiana County Light Up Night due to its close proximity to the festivities. We assumed it was going to be busy, and boy, were we right. We noticed there was a line going out into the outdoor seating area, so we decided to join the line at 5:30PM. We were seated around 6:00PM. Our waitress came over shortly after with Menus. Soon, presumably the owner came over to inform us that there was, “A little bit of a wait.” To me, a little bit of a wait is maybe an hour to an hour and a half… not 4 hours total, but I digress.
When we placed our order, one of our table members had apparently ordered something that they were not making tonight. The waitress brought over a slip of paper that said, “Due to the expected number of customers due to Light Up Night, these items will be unavailable to ensure the efficiency of the kitchen and wait times.” So quickly, we had to change our order on the fly. We were finally able to place our order around 6:15. We ordered 1 Ruben Platter with sweet potato fries and coleslaw, 2 Chicken dinners, one with double fries and teriyaki sauce, and one with double apple sauce and barbecue sauce.
We placed our order and waited… Until we noticed that there were other patrons complaining about the wait times. We over heard some patrons say that they had been waiting since 5:30 for food and it was nearing 7. At no point did anyone visit our table to give us a time frame or an update and the parade had started. Around 7:30, we heard someone else behind us ask for the food to go and we thought, you know what, that’s a great idea. We asked our waitress to just put it as a to go instead of a dine in. I had asked what time we should return to which she responded, “Well, when do you want it by?” Honey, we’ve already been waiting since 5:30 to get seated and order… I would like my food now, but I responded, “How much time do you need?” She suggested 8:30, so we finished our drinks and met up with family at a nearby café to watch the final half of the parade.
When 8:30 rolled around, my fiancé went in to get our food. I had sent him a text letting him know where we were standing and he responded, “It’s almost done.” Mind you, we had started waiting at 5:30 and placed our order at 6:15. How much time does it take to make a sandwich, 2 chicken breasts, and fries? From here on out, I was not present, so this is just information I heard. My future mother in law went in after hearing that they still had not completed the order. She had asked for a manager and she spoke with the owner. The owner said, “We were not expecting the amount of people” Excuse me? You gave us a slip of paper that literally said you were shortening the menu DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE!!! My fiancé was told that he could either take the food, or get a refund, not both, but the owner walked away before either of them could answer. So not only were they not able to answer, but then the people waiting behind them were offered a discount and we weren’t? The owner said they were boxing the order up at 8:35. The owners wife had come out of the kitchen 10 minutes later with the order, and didn’t even know who it was for. We we’re entirely disappointed from what we received.
We were missing the teriyaki and barbecue sauces. Everything was cold… like room temperature cold, so we knew it wasn’t just boxed 10 minutes prior. The sweet potato fries tasted like pickles because they put the 2 sandwich pickles underneath the fries, the chicken was so dry that you could bend it in half before it finally broke, the regular fries were soggy and served in 2 boxes where as the apple sauce came in two little sauce containers that were different sizes, the Ruben was so soggy that when I touched it, it felt like a wet sponge.
After waiting a total of almost 4 hours, we got no compensation, or apology. The owner did nothing to rectify the situation for us but chose to talk to other people and give them discounts and refunds. The owner just wants your money. Never again will we give The Coney another chance.

We had our wedding reception at The Coney in January 2025. Which also happens to be where we had our first date. The upstairs had space for our 130+ guests to spread out on the dance floor, dining area, bar, lounge, and game room. Everyone had an amazing time and we are still getting compliments on the venue from friends and family.

Kellen provided fantastic table service. Great young man took care of my family.

I’m an admitted Reuben snob. I was shocked to have one of the top 2 of my life at the Coney.
Fish and chips were great. Onion rings also.
I wouldn’t hesitate to go again when in town.

Three stars for Atmosphere only because it’s average. Not bad at all. It’s just a good Irish pub and restaurant.

Out of all the choices in the area, this place is a must-visit. Their menu is huge, and everything we ordered was amazing. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The booths inside look really awesome, offering plenty of room for a group to enjoy together. The patio is great too, providing a perfect spot for people-watching on the street while you eat. Everything came out hot and delicious. 10/10 would recommend. Beer was cold too!

Wish this place was closer to home. Have eaten lunch here several times when in the area and every time has been great. The menu has sooo many options, it can be a bit overwhelming. That being said we’ve ordered different things every visit and they have all been delicious. The front booths are nice and private; perfect for some couple time. Definitely recommend and will return in the future!

What a cool place, and without a doubt the best onion rings I have ever had. The batter tasted almost like funnel cake batter. We loved them! Our server was cool, and food came out quick, hot, and delicious. Definitely will return the next time we are in town.

We tried the deep fried dill pickle chips and Irish Nachos for Appetizers and they were really good. I recommend the wraps and I had a large Pittsburgh Style Steak Salad that was pretty good with a little extra blue cheese crumbles on it. Great Atmosphere and Great Service.

We hosted my parents’ 50th anniversary party at The Coney, and it was the perfect experience. We worked closely with Laura, who was so incredible and amazing. We live in Massachusetts so we were facing the challenge of planning a party for 50 people essentially remotely. Laura took care of every detail, from helping me to plan a menu to arranging for all the decor and setup – she handled every piece beautifully, and all night long our guests raved about how wonderful the party was. I was absolutely thrilled with how well it all went. Lovely and responsive service, going the extra mile and adding the perfect finishing touches – Laura and the rest of The Coney staff made it all happen. If you are planning a special event, call them now!

We celebrated my son’s graduation from college at The Coney last night. We were very impressed with the atmosphere, the food and the service. Laura and Tim made sure that everything was taken care of so we could enjoy our special time with our new graduate and our friends and family. The food was outstanding and the Irish Nachos stole the show. We can’t thank The Coney enough for making our celebration so memorable.

Popped in here for a bite while visiting my son who attends IUP. The atmosphere was kind of cool. We liked the booth set up. Very private. We were able to get a good view of the Pirate game on the TV (although it was much more entertaining for the opposing team to watch). It took a bit longer than we expected to get our meals and the size and quality was just OK. The 2 guys were very disappointed in the quantity of fries particularly. Overall, We didn’t hate it. But we didn’t love it.
