Be sure to use S25 from US Hwy 80; otherwise your GPS will take you 10 miles out of the way.
It was however very nice to be out away from the city like that.
Food was good but limited. We had to try the bacon wrapped date (um, not for me thanks but I’m sure it has its fans) and shrimp tacos (delicious).
We got the soft pretzel with beer cheese and date mustard, sweet chili wings, chicken street tacos, the bacon date melt and a kid’s cheese flatbread.
The pretzel was very good, we enjoyed the beer cheese quite a bit. However, the date mustard was lacking in mustard flavor and was a bit too date heavy for our liking (and we love dates). The sweet chili wings were decent, we would’ve preferred a more textured wing and a bit more chili in the sweet chili. The chicken street tacos were my favorite item. A nice combo of fresh, cool and spicy. The bacon date melt was pretty good also, albeit a bit light on ingredients inside. Also, if you get a side choice, skip the coleslaw and opt for fries or something else. Our kiddo seemed to enjoy the flatbread plenty. The date shakes were wonderful, although a bit expensive.
I do have the say the atmosphere here is absolutely lovely. It’s really cute with lots of seating, it’s dog-friendly, and very good service.
If it’s dark outside, be prepared to pee in the dark. The bathrooms aren’t lit, but we didn’t mind so much. We enjoyed the primitive vibe.
We enjoyed the food and drinks that were infused with dates (they even have dog date treats!) The sunsets and sunrises were beautiful, the bathrooms clean and well maintained, and the live music was a really fun touch. What a gem. We can’t wait to go back with friends!
OMG, a $8/9 oz beer? Ridiculous.
