Tried Royal Wok for the first time based off of the reviews here.. and honestly so shocked how many people love this. We got General Tso chicken, sesame chicken, crab rangoons and plain lo mein.
The general tso chicken was so chewy and stringy that after 2 bites my husband was done. He said the flavor was not great either and definitely not spicy even a little bit despite me requesting it extra extra spicy.
I usually don’t get chicken because I’m very particular about textures so I usually get shrimp but none of the shrimp on the menu sounded great so I got sesame chicken. The texture was so bad I took only 1 bite and couldn’t continue. My 2 year old wanted to bite it “with the sprinkles” (sesame seeds) and when she bit it and couldn’t chew it, she threw the rest on the floor and my dog wouldn’t even eat it, and that is saying a lot.
The crab Rangoons are actually ONLY cream cheese despite being listed as crab. 🙁
The lo mein had good flavor, I ate some of that.

We ordered General Tso’s Chicken. It was hard to find any traces of chicken inside the breading. This is a common experience with this place. The wife asked me to get some there and I did. The attitude from the workers are usually very cold. I will try to avoid this place in the future.

It was better then alot of places but it was not great nor terrible. With a little work could be great. They definitely have potential. Im from California and have had the best of the best so im picky. I imagine someone else may feel differently.

Definitely one of the better Chinese foods spots in Dayton area. I had Moo Goo Gai Pan & my friend had Kung Po Shrimp both were hot, fresh and delicious, the staff were friendly. First time eating here but won’t be my last!

While in town on Business Ordered Generals Chicken and large Wonton soup. Order arrived sooner than I expected and was steaming hot received with all the sides and sauces I forgot to order thank you! It’s delicious.

We ordered from DoorDash tonight the Royal wok I ordered general tsp’s, not spicy and it came extremely spicy so I called DoorDash and asked for a delivery and gave the neighbor kid despite you one. They delivered my new dinner and when we open the bag lo and behold, I’ve had sweet-and-sour chicken one of the meals that I just cannot tolerate. So I think I’m about done with the royal wok. Because their food is going downhill their attention to orders is really poor. I’ve loved this place since I’ve been there, but no more.

Well, I had previously, on many occasions, enjoyed this place… this last time was a complete disappointment! My sweet and sour sauce was not only busted and all over my other stuff but it had a gnat in it… that happens. Okay. No huge deal, we had enough in the other container… our “crab” Rangoons were nothing but cream cheese, no crab. My chicken was soggy and my husband and sons sweet and sour chicken was hard..apparently ordering online, means a fee now….I thought I had found our little Chinese spot. Guess I’ll keep looking.. 3 stars was previously 5

I’ve lived in the Dayton area for 6 years and have struggled to find a Chinese restaurant worth going back to. This is by far the best I’ve had in a while! The General Tso’s is delicious and the rangoons are better than I expected! 10/10
