The menu is limited, but thoughtfully curated to offer something for most palates. We started with the fire-roasted olives, sourdough bread, and liberty duck liver brûlée. All were enjoyable, but the duck liver pâté was the undeniable star—rich, silky, and perfectly balanced.
For mains, we tried the pumpkin soup and the Mt. Lassen trout. The soup was flavorful, though a bit on the sweet side, while the trout was expertly prepared with delicate seasoning. However, the portion size for the trout felt small given the price point.
Overall Arquet delivers a memorable dining experience with standout dishes and stunning ambiance. While the quality is high, the portions and pricing may leave some diners wishing for a little more value.
Good: trout, leeks and burrata, duck liver mousse, service, wine by the glass experience, pickles(!)
Could be better: fried chicken sandwich (overfried even though slaw and sauce was good), and tartare (under seasoned)
We shared orders of the chip & dip, which is made from fava beans and served with sweet potato chips – yum! Also an order of the burata and melted leeks, served with toast – how can you go wrong with melty cheese?
I elected the beef tartar and organic pumpkin soup for my meal, one of our party had the kale & apple salad and soup and one had the fried chicken sandwich. We all throughly enjoyed our meals.
Service was top notch. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and super helpful in our selections.
Definitely recommend!
That said, the steak and chicken was just exceptional! So perfectly cooked and have to give a 5 ⭐️ for the kitchen!
The squid and octopus dish was outstanding—10/10, would order again without hesitation. Both the octopus and squid were cooked perfectly, which is incredibly hard to do. Normally they’re chewy, but here they were tender, soft, and beautifully prepared.
The bone marrow speaks for itself: soft milk bread topped with rich, grilled bone marrow and an onion jam that delivers the perfect balance of sweetness and umami to cut through the fattiness. It’s indulgent in the best way.
And then there’s the Dungeness crab toast—literally the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. Words don’t do this dish justice. It’s unbelievably delicious and unique, light and refreshing while letting the natural flavor of the crab shine without masking it.
As a non-drinker, I was especially impressed by the mocktails. It’s rare to find non-alcoholic options that aren’t overly sweet, but Arquet’s were refreshing, thoughtfully balanced, and full of flavor.
Everything is cooked mainly over fire and made with organic, farm-forward ingredients, which made the entire meal feel both satisfying and nourishing. I walked away feeling full but still light and healthy.
Cannot recommend this place enough—Arquet is truly something special
The standout dishes were the scallion fry bread, sungold tomatoes with burrata, ricotta dumplings, bbq steamboat oysters, rack of pork, short rib. Do not miss the desserts. I had the hojicha tiramisu, Thai tea ice cream and the ube basque cheesecake. My favorite was the Thai tea ice cream. The texture of the toasted rice anglaise, popcorn, boba and ice cream were mind blowing. We paired thr desserts with their 3 cultivar tea!
We brought friends from out of town and we left there so satisfied and happy to show them the best of Sf.
Arquet, the new spot in the Ferry Building, certainly hits all the right notes in terms of atmosphere and service. The vibe was excellent—chic, lively, and perfectly suited to the bustling location. Furthermore, the service was truly top-notch, attentive, and friendly throughout our visit, making for a pleasant dining experience overall.
However, the food was unfortunately just okay. While we appreciate the restaurant’s clear focus on organic and specific farm-raised products, the execution felt somewhat flat. There was a noticeable lack of creativity in both the presentation and the flavor profiles of the dishes we tried. The ingredients are clearly high quality, but the resulting dishes didn’t have the impressive taste or unique impact we expect from a destination restaurant in the Ferry Building.
The most disappointing part of the meal was the dessert. It was surprisingly bland and simple, blending in rather than standing out as the final course should.
Arquet has fantastic potential given its beautiful space and excellent staff. With a menu revamp that elevates the cooking to match the quality of its sourcing, this restaurant could easily become a favorite.
We were such fans of Slanted Door and beyond excited that a new restaurant would be in this storied space. From the moment we walked in, we couldn’t stop smiling! The decor is gorgeous and the vibe was welcoming. (The hosts and servers were so lovely throughout.)
We were seated at a table right by the kitchen, which I LOVED. Front row to the open-kitchen action! Seeing the fire from the massive hearth was awesome! And watching how smoothly everyone was working together was impressive….one week in, just wow!! We also loved how there was ample space in between tables, leaving us to feeling comfortable and not cramped.
We had the dungeness crab brioche (insanely good), the eat well sun gold tomatoes (refreshingly tart and savory), the half hot honey chicken and hen of the woods mushrooms from the fire….(delicious and cooked to perfection), the bluefin tuna (so fresh and the mixture of ingredients was so good) and the thai tea cream with boba and popcorn (so fun!).
We also had a chance to talk to one of the restaurant’s exec. team and he was so kind and fun to talk to. A fun highlight for us!!
Can’t wait to visit again!
