First, they lost my order. Second, they did not compensate for my next order or assist with the current one. Third, they literally gave me Pringles chips with a $15 appetizer and had the nerve to call it tuna tartare when it was just spicy tuna in a round shape. I will not return and go to another sushi place in Bedminster. Don’t go here if you want good service.

Avoid this place!!! The person at the front desk was terrible. She was acting like she is super busy and didn’t want to listen to me. When I asked for Manager she was like I am the manager and she manages everything. When I asked for a spicy mayo she was like you have to pay $1 and I asked why? She was like it’s extra. When I asked if I dine in then will she still charge then she was like no. Then I told it doesn’t make sense and I told her why is the case? She then flipped on me and she was like I am not the owner and I don’t make decisions and I told her that how she is the manager and can’t answer. She started talking about all other restaurants charging extra and to-go boxes are super expensive and they have to charge and all. I told her I ordered food from their restaurant and why would I care about what happens in other restaurants. She literally threw the spicy mayo in front of me. She thinks by serving food she is obliged to customers. She doesn’t understand she is in business because customers and she need to understand this. Never go or buy food from here. Food was also smelly and good (check all reviews please). Avoid this place!!

Living close by And having a sushi addiction, I want to love this place… but sadly i can’t get there. It’s disgusting! Every time I get anything w salmon it tastes fishy, stringy and chewy. I ordered 3 rolls last night and only ate 3 pieces – one from each. It was so bad I threw the whole thing away. Honestly go to kings, they have better sushi!

Decent sushi. Service was a little slow, but good. The place is cozy and good for families and small groups. The specialty rolls are larger. I had the Naruto and Mind Eraser and a three smaller rolls. All were good. Not too much rice. BYOB if you want to have a beer.

Super friendly waitress, average sushi for a high price. Lunch was $73 before tip for two and we did not stuff ourselves. I guess the target audience is wealthy people who live in Bedminster and aren’t super accustomed to sushi anyway.

We have been regular customers of Sakana and would usually put a 5* for them, but May 23rd went at night and had the male waiter be very rude. Usually when the owner is there it is clean with good food and service but when she is not…a disaster. Will probably go back to one of the other sushi places in the area.

Supposedly under different management however they are back to the same food tactics. Rolls are super spicy and salty to possibly hide unfreshness of food. They also originally gave us a menu that had free delivery on it for under 5 miles but then changed it to 3 miles after our 2nd time ordering. Not sure I believe these other phony reviews either. I will never order from this place again.

Sakana is a must for sushi lovers! Fish is clearly fresh, servers are very nice and knowledgable, and the restaurant itself is modern and beautiful. The non-sushi is also extraordinary with the hot food coming out steaming and the cold food coming out the exact right temperature. Sakana tastes like a bite out of Japan and I urge you to try it.

Sushi is all about the freshness and quality of the seafood. Sakana hits the mark! Every grocery store can make a Kani salad or a California roll, but Uni and Toro are 2 items that need to be selected properly and speak volumes to the quality of the restaurant. Had both of these tonight and was not disappointed. Did I mention the friendly and accommodating staff? Welcome to the neighborhood.
