Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere! Everything we tried from the appetizers to dessert was 10/10. Our server Axl went above and beyond to make our experience great, our food to our liking and even packaged the leftovers for us to take home. Will definitely be back with friends and highly recommend this new spot for anyone that likes elevated comfort food with a modern twist.

Great food and a welcoming atmosphere!
We had a really nice experience at The Great Dane. I ordered one of their mocktail fizz drinks (can’t remember the exact name), and it was delicious — refreshing and well balanced. We also shared the fried mushrooms and a sausage roll, and both were outstanding. The mushrooms were perfectly crispy, and the sausage roll had an incredible burst of flavor. Portions were generous, which worked perfectly for our group of seven.
The staff was friendly and enthusiastic — especially when recommending the fish and chips. That said, the service was a bit slow even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy at the time. One of our drinks was forgotten, but our server brought it out quickly once we mentioned it. They were also out of a few draft beers.
The restaurant itself was very clean and really captured that classic English pub vibe. The noise level was comfortable — we could easily chat across the table without having to raise our voices.
Overall, despite a few minor hiccups, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out. It’s a great spot for dinner with friends, family, or coworkers.

Love this place!! Right when we walked in, the ambiance drew us in.. dim lighting, cozy booths, awesome bar, and just mood atmosphere overall. Service, drinks, food, all were amazing! Very reasonable prices as well. We will definitely be back, this could definitely be my new Royal Oak favorite! Excited that we have this place.

Classy casual cool: Love the atmosphere of this restaurant! From happy hour to a nice family dinner, I see myself being a regular to say the least. I ordered the Harvest Salad with grilled chicken and it was amazing. The chef knows what’s happening with these flavor combos- literally thinking about it days later. Staff was friendly and for their “soft launch” opening weekend, I was impressed with the entire experience. Main Street has just acquired the best pub in town!

Happy to have Great Dane downtown! My husband and I went with our toddler and had an amazing meal. Service was excellent and the portion size was stellar. It’s a cozy, elegant environment with a really diverse menu-something for everyone from pizza, to veggie options, to traditional pub style fare. Looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu options. Great drink selection as well, with one of the largest NA beer selections I’ve seen downtown.

We had the best time. As you know, Brooklyn and I get around to many Restaurants but this was extra special. The food was excellent. Great menu with some great surprises. We wanted to try everything. Super nice bartender came to our table to ask how was my drink. It was perfect. The atmosphere is so cool. Plenty of tvs with a family pub feel. The service was really good. You can tell that they appreciate you and you see that this place is well managed. Cheers!

Such a great experience! Everything we tried tasted incredibly fresh and well-made. The smash burger was amazing, and the butternut squash & chickpea wrap was packed with flavor. We also loved the pretzel and fried mushrooms, perfectly done and super satisfying. Portions were generous, the atmosphere was really nice, and the service was friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to come back!
