Waba grill is one of those places where you are bound to be happy with a rice plate.

My favorite go to is the half chicken and half beef plate. Both meats are too good to choose from.

They also have a new value menu which makes some of the plates a bit more affordable. You are bound to spend about $10+ but it is worth it.

Make sure to get extra waba sauce on the side as you may need it.

I’ve been a devout fan of Waba Grill for years, even more so after the debut of Boom Boom Tacos. After having so many positive experiences at the Van Nuys & Santa Clarita locations, I’d stopped by the Simi Valley restaurant for lunch. On two occasions, the shrimp in the tacos I ordered maintained their Tails, and when I asked the Mgr if this was normal I was quickly met with “Yes” but before they could turn away I asked if they themselves eat shrimp tacos with the shrimp Tails attached, to which they also replied in the affirmative I understand making mistakes or being caught in a pickle [read: lie], but own up to it, we guests are neither idiots nor do our stomachs possess the enzymes necessary to digest chitin I really like Waba Grill but I’m never returning to this one.

Everyone complaining must be having fast food withdrawals. It’s healthy rice bowls… they can’t give you a pound of rice and still call it healthy. Americans are way too used to huge portions. These are the proper size

Personally I didn’t love the food due to the sweetness of the meats and the Waba sauce but I know that wouldn’t be an issue for most people. Food came out very quickly from when we ordered.

Do not order through the WaBa app for this location in Simi Valley. I waited an hour and 20 minutes only to have our delivery order cancelled. When I called the storefront directly, the manager in charge sounded clueless to what was going on and blamed the delivery system. His solution was for me to come in and pay full price. Full price works for me if you don’t make me wait an hour plus and then cancel my order.

Won’t be ordering from here again.

Ordered the Asian Salad from WaBa Grill this evening. All I can say is don’t do it. Lettuce and more lettuce, 4 pieces of carrot, 6 half slices of cucumber, a few beans, 5 small prawns and soggy tortilla strips. For $13 this was a rip off. Don’t get me wrong I am happy to pay $13 for a proper Asian salad. The salad I got should not be called that.

1st time order and last time to order.

We ordered plates and bowls, one was the Salmon plate with the salad substitution for 3 fried potstickers. The fruit was an orange, it was juicy and delicious. The Salmon was overcooked the new potstickers we’re good, missing sauce and the rice was ok but it would have been better with more Waba sauce. The bowls with meat, veggies & rice, were dry, the veggies were raw, not sauteed at all and dry. The meat(s) were marinated? But in the bowls they were dry. No option again was give for extra sauce on your web ordering nor a chance to ask for it in notes. Needless to say most of 1 bowl was trashed. My husband said the saving grace that helped his plate was the we had soy sauce in the fridge to add to his plate. Well needless to say. I’m deleting my Waba account and won’t be ordering again. Sorry you are a overpriced excuse for Yoshinoya. They at least offer extra sauce and the veggies are cooked.

Portions were smaller compared to Yaki Bowl and prices higher.
Yaki, $12, big white foam box packed, with pineapples and potato salad.
Waba, small black bowl filled, $13.
Food is good, I just ate, still hungry
