Get the burger, patio menu. Everything looks great, but get the burger. Came back for birthday dinner and it was simply amazing. Everything here is outstanding. Adding photos.

We have been there many times. The food is always absolutely amazing!! I have never been disappointed with anything I have tried, even the “out of the ordinary” items. It is impeccably prepared, clearly well thought out and beautifully presented. The service is excellent without being intrusive. The cocktails are unique and delicious. The wine list is excellent and the wine pairings are spot on. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. My only negative comment is that I can’t eat there more often!!

If you have never been there, you should go – you’re in for a treat!!

So slow down and let your dining experience reconnect you with your loved ones. Great service, creative food and wonderful cocktails and wine. But be warned. The pace is set to enjoy the food and your company. I’m guessing an hour and a half for dinner. My experience on the bar side is a little less than that. One of our favorite places in Kansas City.

Very high quality and well prepared food. If you like slow food and have two or three hours to experience this place it is worth a visit. Our parry of seven arrived in groups and we were seated once everyone arrived. In the meantime, we were seated at the bar for drinks. Once in our seats, we were given the menus and specials and given time to choose. You’ll need to decide on all three courses at the time of ordering and there’s lots of interesting things on the menu. Ultimately, everything is of a high quality and you’ll pay appropriately for it, but it is a great atmosphere and experience. Not exactly what I usually want or look for in a restaurant but the foodies in the group were in heaven.

Recommend the outdoor patio. Food was fresh and had great flavor. Bottles of wine were a great price. Ordered a couple locally sourced hamburgers and a cheese plate. Ordered them med-rare, unfortunately, beef was overcooked. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

Simply amazing. Pricey but well worth it – one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Tips: if you have a Justus hankering but are on a Panera budget, sit on the patio – 10 bucks gets you the best beef or veggie burger in the city plus fries. Special vegetarian/vegan tip: if you’ll be dining inside, call ahead of time and the chef will prepare you a gourmet vegan meal (not on the menu).

Incredible food! Wonderful staff. My husband and I went here on a night it was not crowded. We enjoyed talking with Elizabeth. My steak was delicious and I was jealous of my husband’s fried chicken. Definitely recommend!

Best restaurant in KC since I’ve moved here. I had a first date two nights ago and neither of us were familiar with the area, so we ended up at this restaurant and it was the perfect setting for a date. We sat outside on the patio and the staff was literally amazing. Food was so good, it melted in my mouth.. We had the steak and best steak in KC by far. I will def. be back. This is a must try in KC!!!

The Justus family used the drugstore my Grandma and I visited 20 years ago to turn my definition of “fine dining” on its head. And I’ve never been so glad to be wrong.

When I saw a steak complimented with such sides as “pine needle essence” and a shallot blue cheese sauce, I immediately assumed someone had lost their mind. “Why improve on a great steak? Let the meat speak for itself!” It did. Then, everything else spoke right along with it. The accents did nothing to detract from the main course, rather they served to add to what was already present.

If I had to label the atmosphere, I would best describe it as “upscale hipster”. The servers and staff are friendly and accommodating, without hovering or being overbearing. A warning if you bring your elderly grandparents: There are tattoos and epic beards (at least one) present. Bar staff is knowledgeable and almost as creative as the kitchen.

Be prepared to be patient. They are very up front with the fact that this is not a fast food establishment, so bringing small children is highly dangerous to your sanity and that of your fellow diners.

Even if the menu makes no sense, trust your chef and trust your gut feelings. You won’t go wrong.
