A real American classic. A&W always has fantastic food, as has been the case for decades, and this location doesn’t fail to maintain that tradition. The staff are always professional, respectful, and more than willing to accommodate special requests (and happily fix mistakes). I will NEVER throw my money at McDonald’s for a trash burger when I can spend the same thing here for food I’ll actually enjoy.

For the busiest time of the day, there was 3 ppl working and I just want to give a shout out to Regina. She was killing it. Very Patient. Kind. And Definitely works great under pressure. Food was hot. Onions rings are the best by far especially with the dipping sauce they have. Drive thru was busy, but didn’t take to long. The employee was very friendly and helpful. I will be back. Only reason for a 4 star is I asked for no lettuce and still got it.

Been years since I have been to A&W! The food was good but the fries were way too hard to eat. Root beer is made there daily the sign says. But getting out of the fountain machine makes me double think that. Specially since there is a handle to pull for it.

During a recent visit to the St. Charles A&W restaurant, I tried the double cheeseburger combo meal. This included a satisfying double cheeseburger, warm and flavorful fries, and A&W’s classic root beer. The service was efficient and friendly, and the 1950s theme of the restaurant, complete with period music, added to the overall enjoyable dining experience.

My son loves rootbeer. We sought out this place because it is a classic restaurant and my son absolutely loved it. Of course, we tried the root beer ice cream freeze. Yum! The food was good, too. Friendly sevice we will definitely, we will be back

The burgers were good. The smell of bacon in the store was great! But getting the root beer out of the regular soda fountain…not so good. I was looking forward to getting fresh made root beer made right there in the store…just like the signs say. One person in my party wanted iced tea…I don’t know why, they just did. And both the sweet and unsweetened tea containers were empty. Not just they were out, they were clean! No iced tea anywhere near these containers. I don’t know… Friday dinner time and there is no fresh root beer or tea…not very good restaurant management. Strike 1 for A&W.

The disturbing thing, though, was the nastiness allowed in the food prep area. There was a guy using a weed eater and a leaf blower in the parking lot. He was filthy. Out in the lot, he unsafely left things just wherever for people to trip over and step on. Then, he came into the restaurant, all filthy dirty with oil and gas on him, walked into and through the food prep area, grabbing whatever he wanted, basically contaminating everything he touched. This could make people very sick. The staff acted as if this was totally normal. The nasty guy went through the entirety of the food prep area. Virtually everything in the food prep area was contaminated. I wonder what other nasty practices this establishment practicrs. This place needs to have its food rating changed to an F, and should be shut down. All current managers should be fired.

Such a fun step back in time. Going to A&W as a kid was a special treat. Now, my kids are experiencing the fun. Love the “happy hour” prices, too.
