Nice small store. It is a general store on the roadside and it also sells sandwiches. If you visited, you should try the watermelon and mint juice. It is refreshing. It also has a variety of beers. The lady at the store is very friendly.

An outpost of comfort foods in the Santa Cruz Mountains. And there’s an EV charging station cleverly disguised as an old gasoline pump…or vice versa! Santa Cruz Mountains at their finest when old meets new.

Really friendly gentleman behind the counter. First time going through the town and found one of my favorite Cava producer’s rosé bottles. Small town proud and an easy recommendation!

This is a little store way in the mountains of Santa Cruz. It’s not going to carry everything. The selection is really limited, but the people who work there, are great! Very friendly, and can help if that’s what you need. It’s a great place if you live in the neighborhood and need milk or butter, or someone to talk to. It’s a cool little gem in the mountains..

Such a yummy home-made chilli! I so appreciate their selection of home made suppers, perfect to grab on the way down from work and heat up at home in the rainy evenings. Appreciate y’all!

Really appreciated Jamie’s hospitality! She hooked us up with some yummy sandwiches, an amazing chocolate chip cheesecake brownie which she made herself, and some great pointers on local gems as my partner and I mentioned we were looking at some homes in the area. Will definitely come back!

The first time I ever came to Zayante I was beside myself when I saw this great little store. It has all the essentials, a large beverage selection, and Lisa is great. She will stock things locals request. Highly recommend. Edit 2 years later: Now Eric has taken over the store and made huge improvements in every possible way! Still stocking essentials but going far above and beyond with BBQ and more fresh foods than ever before. The layout of the store is improved and and already-great store is now even better.

The few times I have been here, I was not overly impressed with owners attitude toward a potential regular, since I have lived in area for 7 years. The tobacco selection is laughable for a “convenience” store where that should be a priority. When asked if she could stock my brand, there was a resounding no and an awkward silence. Not much in the way of anything but a bit of beer and milk. Prices make the 2 mile drive into town worth it and to top it off the owner (I’m assuming) just had the sort of attitude like she couldn’t be bothered by a customer. If you need a bottle of water in a pinch then this your place…otherwise, do yourself a favor and head into town.
