As a business owner , I make it my business to support and spotlight local food spots — especially ones that claim to be known for something as iconic as calzones. So I came into D.P. Dough with an open mind and high hopes. Unfortunately, from the moment I walked through the door, this visit turned into a huge disappointment.

Let’s start with the customer service — or lack of it. The young man at the register acted like he couldn’t understand a single word I said. I asked, very clearly, “What’s the top-selling item here?” hoping to try whatever they’re known for. Instead of giving me a recommendation or even acknowledging my question, he just stared at me blankly, then proceeded to ring something up without a word. But let’s be clear — when it came time to collect that money, he knew exactly what was going on. Funny how that works.

Then comes the food. When I tell you this was one of the worst calzones I’ve ever had, I’m not exaggerating. It was dry, flavorless, and stuffed with what looked and tasted like leftover, reheated, rubbery chicken nuggets. It was honestly insulting. For a place with this kind of branding and a prime location, serving old, low-quality ingredients like that is unacceptable. You’re not just playing with people’s money — you’re playing with your reputation.

I came in ready to support and possibly even feature y’all in my content. But what I got was disrespectful on every level — poor service, bad food, and zero effort. And let me be clear: I will be coming back to get my money, because I refuse to let this kind of experience slide without being addressed.

If D.P. Dough truly wants to be the “original calzone company,” then you need to do better — with the food, the staff, and the way you treat paying customers. This was beyond disappointing. It was just wrong.

Last night around 8:00 PM, I entered your restaurant and approached the counter to place an order. At that moment, a young woman came from the back carrying an order and very rudely told me to “move out of the way.” She was delivering food to police officers who were seated inside the restaurant.

Her tone and approach were completely unprofessional and unnecessary. As a paying customer, I should not be spoken to in that manner under any circumstances. Because of her attitude, I chose to leave the restaurant immediately rather than engage further.

Customer service is a reflection of your business, and this employee demonstrated poor customer service skills that negatively impacted my experience. I hope this matter is addressed to prevent future incidents.

Have gotten a canzone several times in the past, and the food was great. Usually, I’m told it will be ready in ten to fifteen minutes. This time, it was to be ready in five or six. When I got home, the crust was burned, and the fillings cold.

It sure what’s going on with both New Orleans locations recently. Freret street loaded my calzone with banana peppers and no tots, instead of jalapeños. I hate banana peppers, don’t was bad. Then the next day, no cheese in the calzone at Decatur.

I had a terrible experience with this cookie dough restaurant. I ordered a specific item, but they sent us the wrong food. To make matters worse, the incorrect order contained peanuts, to which my sister is deathly allergic. This mistake could have been life-threatening for her.

When she contacted the restaurant to explain the situation and politely requested a replacement, they flatly refused. Their lack of concern for customer safety and their unwillingness to correct their mistake is appalling. I strongly advise anyone with food allergies or who values good customer service to avoid this place at all costs. If there was a option to review negative stars I would period. I would rather order cookie from the zoo made by a gorrilla than order from here again. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Bae loves their calzones but I don’t.
So he got me the wings as a substitute.
It was ok; like it was friend but they put the garlic sauce on it and that made it soggy.
Like the texture wasn’t so great but if you peeled off the skin it was good but everyone knows the best part of fried chicken IS the skin.
Ok back to the garlic sauce was everywhere.
I was expecting it to be in a cup/container or something.
It made a mess from the Grease and sauce seeping through the paper box on to everything in the bag and anywhere imaginable.

Literally still sitting here an hour after order was supposed to be done. Garlic butter was busted open and drowning the bread sticks. Wings were meh at best. Had I not paid online, there’s no way I would have waited. Certainly won’t be waiting again, way too many better options here.

I can’t rate the service or atmosphere as I ordered online, but good God almighty. Where is yo seasoning?!? I’ve been looking at this place for a while and finally caved on a night of drinking. Might be great for the average college kid but I still enjoy good food after a night out. This was sub par. Philly let me down.
