This might be the best banh mi on Oahu. This stacks up with some of the banh mi’s I get in San Jose’s little Saigon. The bread could be better, if they improved that bread they’d get 5 stars from me. I’d have to admit Le’s Banh Mi bread is better, but everything else is better here

Today I have tried the Saigon Special and “WOW!” It was really good, in fact it may be the best sandwich I have ever tasted. The taste was unique and it really was good. I will definitely have to try the other sandwiches. This really is a hole in the wall with great taste with great service.

Wow. This has the best Banh Mi I’ve tried on island. I recommend the BBQ Chicken or Pork one. Both sooo good. The Siagon was def a little weird. The veggie one was also unbelievable. Thank you so much. This place does take credit card. No seating.

I love Banh Mi, with a passion. Recently I have been on the hunt for the best Banh Mi in Hawaii. I am looking for taste, texture of bread, and over all value.
I compare every sandwich to that which I had and fell in love with in HCMC (Saigon).
To the point, I ordered four Saigon Specials. The shop is set up for take out only, and reminds me of a Banh Mi street cart, but its a brick and mortar. Anyhow, the service was friendly, and fast. The sandwiches came warm. The bread was lightly toasted, crunchy on the outside, and chewy on the inside. It was very slim/lite on the meat toppings, and heavy on Pate and fish sauce. The carrots and daikon were lightly pickled.
Anyhow, over all, they were not bad. I wanted to give a 2.5 star but no option for that. I will try again however, just to make sure. Over all it is pretty good, and I would recommend it here in Hawaii.

I love the BBQ chicken banh mi sandwich here; they put a jalapeno in it for a little kick! Summer rolls were so yumm-o too! Everything was so fresh and delish! Their coffee jello was refreshing as well!

By far the best banh mi sandwich I’ve ever had locally. Everything they have is super ono. I come at least once a week. If not, twice a week. The owner and his wife are super awesome and friendly. I recommend this place to friends all the time when they’re looking for a good banh mi sandwich.

Awesome customer service! I go there to buy the Cafe Du Monde Coffee and Chicory. It is one of my favorite coffees. I did purchase one of the drip coffee/pour over coffee makers to make a Vietnamese style coffee. They explained perfectly how to make it. It worked out great, while it was too strong for me, anyone that likes strong coffee that isn’t bitter will love this. I make my coffee in a regular pour over/cowboy coffee maker and it comes out great!

The vegetarian banh mi is so ono. The tofu is delicately seasoned/marinated, the pickled vegetables crisp and fresh, a good amount of heat to the jalapeños, and the bun is freshly baked with the perfect bite. Nice ratio of filling to bread, too. Like others have said, there is parking behind the shop (yay!) and no seating. But that’s okay, because it travels well to a picnic in the park.
