This is the ideal diner experience. Everything is older than dirt but clean and well kept. The coffee is delicious. The food doesn’t come quickly, but it’s fantastic (I recommend the omelets). There’s a baby in a walker just wandering around or being passed from waitress to waitress. The staff is friendly and the hashbrowns are the perfect amount of crispy. My favorite place to spend a lazy morning

Don’t waste your time or money at this place. Just keep on driving! There are way better breakfast spots to eat at.
When you walk in the door you have no clue that you are suppose to seat yourself. Once seated it’s a guessing game of what waitress will help you.
If you’re lucky someone will take your order.
A table walked out after we ordered and all the waitress said was “yeah, we’re busy and under staffed” and could have cared less that the table was leaving.
I swear one of the younger waitresses was on the verge of tears she was so overwhelmed.
Another table next to us couldn’t get attention that they needed silverware and finally asked the table next to them to have their extra on the table.
Our food finally came and tasted like a burnt over greased grill.
We then waited quite awhile for our check and finally just put cash on the table and let a different waitress know we were leaving.
I know this restaurant is a staple in this small town (it was even recommended to us) but! It is not managed well at all. If you are understaffed you need to have a wait list for seating. If you let customers sit and then don’t serve them it looks bad on you!
If you can’t get help, you need to pay your help more. Basics of business!
Also, Floors were gross and needed cleaned!

If you want real breakfast, so good that it stands out above others and makes you wonder why anyone you would ever eat at chain restaurants, Martha’s Cafe is it.

I had the chili cheese omelette, and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the best omelette I’ve ever eaten. Perfectly cooked eggs, loaded with flavor, and smothered in chili and cheese like they weren’t afraid of doing it right. No skimping. No shortcuts. Just honest, hearty food that tastes like someone in the kitchen actually cares.

This place is pure East Idaho comfort food. Big portions, classic “meat and taters” cooking, exactly how breakfast is supposed to be. You don’t leave hungry—ever. The atmosphere is casual, cozy, and family-friendly, with that old-time diner feel that’s getting harder and harder to find. Service is fast, friendly, and professional, like they’ve been doing this forever… because they have.

And let’s be honest—you can’t miss it. The giant waitress statue out front is iconic. If you’ve seen it, you know. If you haven’t, you should fix that.

Bottom line: if you’re passing through Blackfoot, stopping for breakfast, or just craving food that’s done the right way, Martha’s Cafe is a must-stop.

High-quality food, professional service, family-friendly vibes, and a warm country welcome that keeps you coming back.

The hash browns made crispy were fresh and delicious. The sourdough toast tasted freshly baked. The French toast was superb. My husband had the corned beef and hash and he loved it. This deserves 5 stars and nothing less.

We went about 10 in the morning, slow. So service was quick, they kept my coffee filled as well as my husband’s Dr. Pepper! The waitress we had picked up two of our daughters toys for us after she dropped them, which was very sweet! My husband ordered the biscuits & gravy, said it wasn’t to bad but there is other things he’d prefer or like to try over ordering them again. I did a double cheese burger with their fresh cut French fries and man was it great! Cooked well, and hot! We also got an appetizer to share, I was not a fan of the mushrooms, so I’d probably ask for something else for those next time but the appetizer was great too with their ranch and fry sauce!!
I’d recommend this to try at least once! Menu as a large selection!

Went here a few times. Always got my order wrong. County fried steak was chewy and bland. Every time I got hash brown they were bland. Coffe was good. Food is cheap for a reason because it’s not good. Service is SLOW. expect a 45 minute wait even if you order something small. Never going back here.

My dad and I had breakfast at Martha’s Cafe, and the food was really good. When we arrived, all the tables were full, and we were unsure if we should seat ourselves at the bar or wait to be seated. After wandering around the restaurant for a minute, we found the cashiers counter (in the middle of the room behind a wall—weird spot for it). A waitress behind the bar saw us wandering around and asked us to sit wherever we wanted too. Some directional signs and a sign telling you to seat yourself would be helpful for new customers. Other than that, it was a good experience. You can tell this is a local favorite, the staff and customers seemed to know each other and their was a lot of friendly banter going on.

Also, Martha’s was the only locally owned place we could find that was open on Sunday.

Had lunch there today very disappointed. Tuna melt was cold and too toasted. Grilled ham and cheese was too toasted. The cheese was processed not good at all. The tatertots were too crisp and cold. Won’t return to try again. Very dissatisfied.

Summary:
Poor service from staff
Under AND overcooked food
Long wait times

Detailed:
Went in for a brunch with the wife. We waited for a few minutes by the front desk, until we were told by a nearby waitress (who barely acknowledged us) to sit wherever we liked.

Once we found a suitable table by a window, we waited for 30 minutes. In that time, we never acknowledged, had to find our own menus from the front of the restaurant and wave down a waitress to serve us ( who happened to serve other guests right beside us and who came in AFTER us).

After getting a waitress’s attention, we asked for both food and drink from the menu. She didn’t offer or recite any drinks options and almost seemed surprised when we asked for drinks.

I ordered a breakfast steak, medium well, and my wife ordered a chili omelette. After another half hour, the food finally came. Coffee was warm at best, steak was overcooked, dry and hard, and my wife’s omelette was undercooked and raw and very runny.

While I was disappointed with my steak, I decided not to bring it up as flagging down a waitress and waiting for a whole new steak didn’t seem worth the time. We notified the waitress that the omelette was an issue, that we didn’t have time to wait for a new one and upon hearing this, the waitress said she’d remove it from our order. My wife ate the sides that came with her meal, leaving the main entree entirely intact.

At checkout, we walked back to the front desk, and we’re checked out. Our waitress mentioned to another waitress that was checking us out, that we have have a discount applied. Turns out, they didn’t remove the entree from our ticket ( even after I explicitly mentioned the omelette should not have been charged) and only gave us $3.00 off from my wife’s $12.75 meal ( so $10 for a hash brown and a small side scone).

All in all, the food has potential, but the service and food cooking issues were awful… I won’t ever visit or recommend this restaurant to anyone.
