We’re a small family owned and operated pizza shop located inside of Root + Branch Brewing in Copiague, NY.
Our pizza is super thin, crispy and always baked well done with ample charring. Every pizza is baked fresh to order. 16 inch pies. No slices.
Call in for pre-orders and takeout during our business hours. No delivery!

We’re from Brooklyn recently moved to the island. Was really missing great pizza. Definitely in top 3 pies I’ve had on LI. Clearly these guys care about the ingredients they use. Everything was delicious. Nico’s, Taglio’s and MU are taking the LI pizza scene to the next level. Super nice guys as well. Run don’t walk.

This was my 4th time back to Root & Branch Brewery and my 3rd time having pizza from Nico’s Charred Pies. Had the pleasure of being able to try their new square pie. It was very light and crispy. I would’ve liked to put some toppings on it, but was interested in just trying it as is, which is “upside down” style! I really enjoyed the crust – there was visible olive oil on there – yum! The round pie is the spicy red. Large, thin slices of garlic and a fiery kick! The crust was thin and crispy!

I understand pizza, like any food, is generally a personal preference. That said, one thing that simply can not be debated is the quality that this place puts into everything they make. I have been to 47 states, Europe, the Middle East, Canada, Mexico and South America. Nico’s is hands down the best pizza i have ever had. Even the white pie has a unique slight hint of citrus that elevates it in a way I never imagined. The regular is absolutely the best regular slice I’ve ever had and the deep dish square pie is worth driving hours for. Thank the heavens I live less than 15 min away!

Pizza and beer is there any better combo? Nicos definitely knows how to make some of the best pizza on the Island. Different weekly special pies keep things fresh and new, if they have the Dante pie on special it’s a must get! Also the spicy red with fresh burrata added is always on point. Nicos is top tier and has never disappointed.

Well made pie made well done, Nico’s charred pizza unique taste and amazing location make this an easy must try. The regular/Pepperoni pie was very good, with a great crunch and delicious flavor from the pepperoni. The white slice was good, but personally we see the dollops of Ricotta to be an unnecessary addition that takes away more than it adds to the slice. Overall though we will definitely be returning here in the future.

Excellent!!!!!!!!! I would say best on Long Island! Thin crust, sauce is amazing! We had pepperoni, regular, and spicy red, and sausage. Spicy red was my fav! Can’t wait to try the others next time!!!!

Easily the best pizza on Long Island if not NY. We come somewhat regularly from Syosset because it’s that good! It’s also a must stop place when we have family visiting. Delicious! We’ve never had a bad pie!

Nico’s charred Pizza Pies did not disappoint. I ordered the special of the day, which was called the Brooklyn style pie. Upon delivery, I immediately noticed the char on the crust, the balanced browning on the cheese and just the right amount of fresh basil, placed throughout the pie. The crust and undercarriage were firm, just the way I like it. It was evident immediately that the ingredients used were of great quality and not cheap, fast food substitutes. The sauce had just the right amount of acidity, the mozzarella was delicious and didn’t get rubbery as the pie cooled, and the charring was perfect and added just the right amount of flavor to compliment the pie. From the first bite to the last, I thoroughly enjoyed this pizza.

I’ve grown up in copiague my whole life after seeing the reviews I wanted to try it out.
Quite simply this pizza sucks. It’s as thin as a sheet of paper, and it’s burnt black on the bottom, it’s basically a burnt version of the old blaze Pizza. 23 bucks for a 16-in pie.
The beer might be good but I haven’t tried it but I would never order that pizza again no thanks..

Came here/Root + Branch on a Friday night for some lowkey pizza and craft beers. I had been wanting to try Root + Branch for a while since I moved to Suffolk and didn’t realize they had a pizza place in store too, and boy do they make a good pie! We ordered the French onion, the jalapeño pepperoni and a traditional Margherita, each of them delicious in their own right, but if you’re getting just one, then my favorite was the jalapeño pie. Crust is super light and crispy, but flexible, which was a pleasant surprise to the pizza folder in me that is used to these thin neapolitan style pies that break apart on me. Pair their pies with any delicious beer from the bar and you have a recipe for a great night. Service was kind and relatively quick and decent amount of seating even on a Friday night (there’s even more outdoor if the weather is nice). Parking right in front is plentiful and right near the train should you choose that option. A lowkey spot to enjoy good eats and drinks, chalk me up for plenty of return visits.
