We happen to just by chance be lucky enough to get to have a pre opening lunch here today! The owner was hands on and so nice. The staff from their chefs to especially our waiter Blue were all friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We tried the Brisket Sando and their Champion Award winning Burger which combined brisket, short ribs and ground chuck. The Brisket was tender and Burger was cooked perfectly too. Both were delicious !!! For sides we had the fried green tomatoes and potato salad and they both were great too! They make everything from scratch except their fries. They are open for breakfast too! We will be a frequent customer!! Definitely a 5 star plus experience!

It was nice to sit outside looking at the mirror heart statue. The prices were a bit high, maybe because of where it is…don’t know. Service was great. I had the Award Wining Burger – small but good with a side of red potato salad. I don’t care for red potatoes, but that’s my taste.
My friends and I got our separate “checks” (not printed.) I thought about the totals later on and remembered that they were rounded off to $21, $27, $25 and $45. I know pennies are not being used, but other coins are. Am I missing something?

Finally!!! A great place for real smokehouse barbecue in Traditions, right by the Heart. Grand opening is Monday, but we got a preview tasting today by the owner Taylor. This is my new go to place for a smokehouse breakfast, lunch or dinner. Sampled the gator tails which were awesome tasty and tender. Then a smokehouse brisket sandwich topped with slaw, super delicious with a little kick to the sauce. Photo included below. Definitely put this on your go to list. You will be back for more!!

I wasn’t expecting much for some reason, but, Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Island Pig and Fish is a fantastic addition to the Riverland-Tradition area. My husband is from Texas and is a barbecue snob, and even he likes the food. Really GOOD barbecue and a versatile menu. I added barbecued pulled pork to a salad, and oh, yum. Tried my companion’s smoked chicken salad, another yum. Our server Blu is a delight. Looking forward to returning again and again.

Danny was a great server explaining anything we had questions on about the menu. Hubby and I shared an order of the perfectly prepared
fried green tomatoes (6 slices) and the delicious grilled cheese sandwich. I took a picture of the fried green tomatoes, but when we started eating the grilled cheese sandwich, I forgot. Trust me, everything was wonderful.

Danny my server was great. The breakfast was exceptional. And I really mean that. This is not your bacon and eggs joint. They serve marvelous creative breakfast plates. I had pastrami hash and eggs with a special sauce!

Very disappointing experience. I ordered the classic pulled pork plate,with potato salad and baked beans ($3
00 extra for about half a cup). The pork had a lot of fat chunks, potato salad was tasteless, and the beans also had chunks of pork fat.
My husband ordered the pulled pork, cheddar jalapeño sausage, coleslaw and French fries. Coleslaw was bland and had red onions, fries were so overcooked they practically shattered when I took a bite. Sausage was also overcooked and extremely salty.
With one Coke, and an automatic 18% gratuity, our bill was $61.00.
In my opinion, not a good value for the money

One of the best gourmet burgers we’ve had in a long time, we understand why it’s an award winner. The bacon jam puts it over the top! Had Mac and cheese for a side (delicious), Chef sent over fried green tomato to try. Crispy, not greasy, terrific sauce. She explained the burger to us. Everything was amazing. Chloey our server was super friendly. We will definitely be back. Usually I take pics, we forgot because it all was too good!

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this place ever since I saw the sign, and it has exceeded my expectations. It may be some of the best barbecue I’ve had. We’ve only tried the pulled pork, sausage, and burger so far, all excellent. The sides are very solid, and the Texas toast is hands down the best I have ever had. Most importantly, the portion sizes are very generous, so keep that up and we will be returning every week for some post-gym protein!

My wife and I are visiting from Texas and we stopped for lunch at Island Pig & Fish. It’s a fairly plain and unprepossessing little restaurant. Not what I would call a hole-in-the wall – more like a mom-and-pop cafe. Bright, clean, and welcoming.
Our waitress, Megan Harper, was cheerful, friendly, and attentive. She knew the menu extremely well and her recommendations were described clearly. I found Megan to be a fantastic server/host. She’s one of the best I’ve encountered in my 74 years.
I ordered the cheeseburger. Delicious, top-quality meat. The meat alone made it a great hamburger, but add in the onion jam, bacon, creamy cheese and it became stellar! It was one of the top three or four hamburgers ever! My wife had the Mahi sandwich – super! The fried green tomato appetizer – super too!
