I will eat anywhere that has eggs Benedict. These were really good also. It’s like walking back in town when you step foot in here and that’s the point of any good diner. Eating and seeing the same things our parents and grandparents ate all Theo years ago. The staff were friendly and our server was great. They are active also and super attentive. I wanted to try more but was too full so I will have to stop in again but there is plenty to try. We need more breakfast places in Charleston so I plan on supporting this to the best of my ability!

Slow but friendly service and ok food. On a rare Sunday without our little one, my husband and I decided we would enjoy a rare brunch date. I had been wanting to try the QD since they reopened back in the fall of 2024, but hadn’t made it there yet. I am so happy we didn’t have our son, he wouldn’t have made it with the long wait times for food. The place was packed and our waitress was nice and friendly, but it took forever to get our food, and when we did mine was burnt and missing ingredients; not a pepper to be found. I ordered the kielbasa plate and my husband ordered the eggs Benedict. He said his was ok, not bad but not great. He wished it came with more hollandaise. Mine had burnt kielbasa that I did point out to the waitress but at that point we had been there so long I told her not to worry about it. Not once did I encounter a pepper in my dish either. The bubble waffle was decent. Probably a good option for kids. Overall it was an ok breakfast, but nothing to write home about and certainly not worth the price. Nearly $50 for breakfast; yikes.

After constantly complaining about not having enough great breakfast spots in Charleston, Quarrier Diner has re-opened its doors and stolen my heart! Everything was absolutely delicious from the perfectly poached eggs on our Benedict to the fun and yummy texture of their signature “bubble waffles”. Not to mention, the 50s style ambiance and service that made us feel like family brought everything up to the next level. We will be back 100x over! I’m so happy you all brought back this historic little spot.

A popular local food critic raced about the new Quarrier Diner. I understand great reviews for a new business helps drive traffic but I believe honest reviews help them improve so that those customers become repeat customers.

We went in for lunch on a Saturday. We went a little late hoping to avoid any lunch rush. When we got there, they were full. We waited for a table but took places at the counter when they opened up. I took the full house as a good sign. I figured if they’re that busy, it must be good.

The first thing I noticed was the service was lacking. Very little communication and no one was smiling. We were a party of 3. When someone finally took our order, she took them one person at a time. Take an order, walk to the pos and put it in, then come back and take the next one. Odd and inefficient.

While waiting for our food, I noticed almost none of the tables in that packed house had food. They were almost all still waiting. The kitchen is visible to the dining area and the cooks were spending a lot of time standing around and one spent most of the time we were there scrolling on his phone. We watched servers walk past plates of food that were waiting to go out over and over again. We ended up waiting just over an hour for our order to come out. During that time, no one came to check on us, ask us if we need anything, or explain/apologize for the delay.

The food that finally arrived was okay but disappointing. My wife had the breakfast burger which was good but was too much bun for the filling. Our friend had a burger which she said the same thing about. I had the bubble waffle with scrabbled egg and sausage. That was the worst fish of the three. Bubble waffles are typically rolled and served as a cone with fillings inside or with the other items on top such as how chicken and waffles are usually served. This one came out with just the waffle on one plate, the eggs and sausage on another and a side of syrup. The waffle was not bad but less fluffy than I expected. The sausage was good but the eggs were overcooked and under seasoned. The worst part of that dish was the bland and unappealing presentation. Just a few pieces of fruit on that plain waffle would have made it much more appetizing.

It’s clear that the packed house was due to slow service, not great food. Historically, I’ve loved the Quarrier Diner and I hope this new iteration gets better.

Wow! They certainly dont skimp on flavor! Had the kielbasa hash for breakfast…and then leftovers for lunch because the portions are very generous. Will be back to try more menu items. Glad to see the place open – it was all full by 11!

The menu was limited. The food was not from scratch. My husband had biscuits and gravy- he said it tasted like the gravy came from a can and the biscuits were reheated. I had eggs Benedict and it appeared the hollandaise sauce was also from a can. It wasn’t bad; however, the hollandaise sauce was cold. Would have been tasty had that been warm.

I was excited to go but I do not believe we will return.

Breakfast was good, a little on the pricey side for what you get. Service was a tad slow. Waited 10mins after plates were picked up to receive my bill. Food was good, bubble waffle was very dense and tough but did have good flavor. Egg skillet was good, large portion, instead of diced fried potatoes it was just wedge potatoe fires, meh.

Hollandaise was too salty not warm enough.and there was way too much on the plate. Hot bologna was ok but no add on options lettuce etc were offered or on it . Theham was good on the Benedict. The poached eggs were over done and did not run at all.more like boiled egg.. the reason for 4 stars was the service. He was excellent.friendly and attentive.the only reason I would go back would be him. I wish them luck but they need to tweak some things. For the price they charge it could be better

Good, quick service. The kielbasa hash was phenomenal. Our server impressively remembered all of our orders without writing anything down. Pancakes and French toast also looked delicious. Can’t go wrong at this place
