Pho King is a nice, quaint little place in an obvious former Sonic building. It’s run by what appears to be a legitimate Vietnamese woman who is incredibly kind and sweet, and very clearly dedicated and talented in the kitchen.

The setup is small — almost like a soup kitchen–style lineup where you order at the counter. There are a few tables outside, but other than that it’s mostly takeout. It’s slightly odd when the main dish is pho not really having a place to sit, but I guess takeout works.

She insists the pho is authentic, and it certainly appears to be. The broth is cooked for 24 hours, and you can taste the depth of flavor.

Pros:
• Extremely sweet owner who is clearly dedicated to her craft
• I’ve had tons of pho, and the pho at Pho King is delicious
• Very good price point — a bowl is only $11, which is great value
• Only a few places in the valley even sell pho — a Thai place that most people don’t know about (and isn’t very good), Laan Thai which is delicious but closer to $20, and Sabores which is also good. I’d probably give the edge in authenticity and flavor to Pho King.

Cons:
Sadly, this place will probably struggle and be gone eventually unless they add someone who knows how to effectively advertise/handle the business side. They currently have no website, no online ordering, no DoorDash or delivery, etc. They’re also located in a spot in town that food businesses struggle to stay afloat in.

They could definitely use more staff and help as well, but right now there also isn’t enough traffic. If they suddenly got busy, waits would probably get long.

In short: authentic, delicious pho, a very kind owner, and great pricing — but they’re a bit inexperienced on the modern business/online and customer service side of things.

Still absolutely worth checking out and supporting.

I’ve been waiting for this place to open for quite a while, but I’m glad to say that it was worth the wait. The staff was so friendly and kind and patient with me as I went through the ordering process. The owner, Larry, was incredibly kind and just from the food alone, I can tell how much love and effort was put into this place.

I can’t wait to go back when they start serving spring rolls! If you want a great experience with great people, I can’t recommend this place more. If you want to taste truly delicious food please stop here and try out their pho. It’s Pho King delicious!

The food is absolutely delicious! We got the beef broth with beef, brisket, and veggies. The broth is soooo good. One had rice noodles and the other had egg. The egg noodles are a bit clumpy but are good. The service is slow but very nice. They are learning and I see so much potential!

I am looking forward to coming again and watching the process improve. The line is a little confusing so maybe some more signage for the process. The main guy was criticizing the team in from of everyone after the staff made a mistake and the staff fixed the mistake before he even found out.

Will visit again!

Definitely my new favorite restaurant. Generous serving size. The veggie broth is very flavorful. The tofu is tasty and the texture is great. Everything was prepared fresh.

I think they should add a spicy option, but the jalapeños and sriracha made it spicy enough!

I tried Pho King today and it was better than I expected. The owner was nice and welcoming. I got the beef broth pho with rice noodles. The broth had a great flavor and the selection additional toppings is exactly what you want with pho. The only thing I would say is they don’t give enough broth but with the bowl size I understand. Noodles were a bit over done. I will be going back though and I’m happy we have a “fast food” option for pho!

Would have posted a picture but I ate it to fast! Loved the flavor and overall options. I enjoyed it more than other pho I have had in the valley. Only 4 stars because I wished I had more broth. I would pay extra to get some additional broth, it was delicious!

You get what you pay for, so $11 isn’t the worst. However the customer service was awful. Since it was my first time there I needed a second to look at the menu and the person who I believe is the owner yelled and told me if I wasn’t here for pho to “get out” I almost did just leave with that being the first thing he stated. He was jumping the line to get my order even though he hasn’t served the girls ahead of me. He was walking over his other employees so services was all over the place . Maybe in the future I’ll give it another try when they have been open longer.
