My coworker and I had started coming here quite often and LOVED the amazing pancakes they made, I told several friends how good they were. But recently we came in and the pancakes are now the size of hockey pucks and when we asked about this the man at the register responded very rude that this is how they are supposed to be. I run my own restaurant and this guy needs work in his customer field. (More training on how to treat a customer maybe?) I will NOT pay $6 for two silver dollar pancakes. We were informed that the cook who used to make them no longer works here. Very sad because they knew how to make a real stack of pancakes. 🙁

I’ve done both dine-in and to-go orders at Hy-Vee, and if you have the time, dine-in is the way to go. My frustration comes from the to-go experience, which has failed me multiple times.
This is the third time this year that parts of my to-go order were missing. I’ve left feedback through Hy-Vee’s emails before, but no one at the store ever thought it was worth their time to figure out a solution.
I ordered a family dinner for six—chicken with sides—and, once again, it was incomplete. I received 8 pieces of chicken, which seems to be the standard. But no rolls and no macaroni salad.
I stood at the counter, waiting for someone to help. When I mentioned the missing items, they casually said, “I forgot it, it’s sitting on the counter,” and for the rolls? “We’re all out.” They offered English muffins instead. English muffins?!
It didn’t stop there. When I got home, I found I’d been shorted on the mashed potatoes. I paid for 32 ounces, but they packed just 8 ounces in the smallest container possible. Gravy had its own tiny container as well.
Here’s the bottom line: if you’re doing to-go at Hy-Vee Market Grille, expect to be disappointed. They don’t prioritize customer service, and you’re out of luck if you’re not face-to-face with them. At least with dine-in, you can escalate the issue on the spot.
The food’s fine, but the to-go service? Garbage. Stick to dining in if you want your order done right.

This place has eggcellent breakfast! Wow. In a grocery. It’s just so fancy.
I have not been pleased with the breakfast options around here and we came to the grocery of all things to get our best breakfast yet. And it’s not skimping or anything. We paid 16 bucks to feed 1 adult and 2 kids, and I’m pretty sure I spent more on fast food.
We had the omelette and pancakes with sides. So tasty. Definitely recommend.

Old fries … Clearly it was fried in old oil and in the same oil that they fried other things and it tasted so bad
Bread was not grilled… It was burned… Burned bread is dangerous and is cancerous
I’m not going to go there again and I wouldn’t recommend it either to anyone who wants to eat a quality food.

I’ve been going to Hy-Vee for years. I love that they brought it to Wisconsin. I am originally from Iowa and it is one of my favorite places to shop for groceries and other items. It is a different type of experience when you go there and you never forget the slogan..that there’s a helpful smile in every aisle!

Huge half pound burger made fresh with cheese and bacon. They have a ton of toppings you can add on. The meat quality was top notch.
