Super friendly staff. Clean restaurant and restrooms.
Friday night catfish
2 of had the special. (Overpriced in my opinion) Catfish is ok. Just normal chunked fried cornmeal fish . PLENTY OF FRIES . Slaw was lacking flavor. Baked beans are real sweet. Also had pie (no pics) pies were homemade and awesome . You have to ask for whipped topping tho
Daughter 1 had chef salad. Decent price . Only bad on the salad was the boiled eggs were extremely overcooked and grey.
Daughter 2 had Chicken stripes . Dark brown and over fried. But plenty of them .
Also had fried mushrooms and fried onion rings. They needs just standard frozen and fry variety. Nothing bad about them. Cooked fresh and hot .
Also at the table was a kids cheeseburger and fries . Looked good . Kid said it was good .
In all just a standard local cafe. Nothing fancy.

Good home-cooked meals. Very well portion, bring your appetite. Super reasonably priced. Staff was very polite and attentive. The entrance is a little tricky to find, turn into the fire department.

It was a little off the highway but well worth the stop. This was a great little mom and pops diner whith some good home cooking. I just wish they had fried zucchini. If and when I drive back through here I’ll definitely have to stop again.

Very quiet, family owned restaurant. Pleasant, homey atmosphere. Great food and dessert! Very friendly people. The owners daughter served us, and we really enjoyed talking with her. I highly recommend this restaurant if you ever come to Mansfield, Missouri.

Local stand alone family restaurant – relatively clean interior and roomy with ample tables and seating. Staff did not greet and/or attend our table for about 8 min – and were not too busy; two wait person’s – cordial when finally came to our table. We had to ask for menus. Coffee was warm not hot – but decent strong flavor; refills were barely warm. Sausage, bacon, and hashbrowns had been precooked and held on steam table

This place was super clean, even the bathrooms were immaculate. I was very impressed with the cleanliness. It’s a decent looking little diner.
I gave 3 stars for food because my husband had a very yummy pork tenderloin sandwich and our fries were very fresh and tasty. However…
Don’t get the chicken salad (or probably any salad if you want something that has better nutritional value than iceberg lettuce). There was a scattering of EXTREMELY dry chicken breast (maybe a fourth cup at most) over some iceberg lettuce with bits of tomato and cucumber with shredded cheese over the top. If they’d switch to some mixed greens and dice up a nice juicy piece of chicken I would give a better review, but I was very disappointed. Even if the chicken itself was fresh I would have been satisfied. I understand that most small town restaurants probably don’t sell many salads but when a person wants chicken salad then they should get a proper amount of protein and fresh chicken.
The service was okay. They were polite and relatively quick. The waitress brought out Miracle Whip instead of mayo, which my husband hates. She didn’t think they had mayo but found some packets. The menu said the sandwich was supposed to come with onions and pickles as well as tomato and lettuce but my husband had to ask for his pickles and didn’t bother asking for the onion.
I felt sorry for the woman limping back and forth from the kitchen to the cash register and out to help serve. She looked sad and in pain.
I’m willing to try this place again because I want to give it a better review. Unfortunately, being gluten sensitive, my options are limited to salad or something without a bun, which would be no big deal if the salad hadn’t been so disappointing.

My husband and I absolutely love Kathy’s Kitchen. When we first came to the area to look at houses we stopped in and had lunch. We immediately felt at home, the staff was friendly, the food was good, the prices are extremely fair, and the portions are nothing to sneeze at. We moved from Colorado and this has become a favorite place for us. They have lots of parking, and always have a smile for you. PLUS Kathy’s pies are amazing!

The owner lady was nice kept me calm when the rest of the staff were piddling around up at the cashiers. Took an hour to get my double cheeseburger and onion rings. We walked in no sign to say to let you know to seat yourself. You can hear everyone’s conversation at the registers, in the kitchen all throughout. The food was great but the service is the slowest and grumpy acting people I’ve ever seen so far in my life

This was a great stop for lunch while visiting the local attractions. Admittedly, I was a little concerned from the outside appearance. However, the food was great, the service was wonderful and the price was actually less than I thought it should have been.

We stopped in while we visited the seed farm. The owner was so sweet, and the staff was nice. Standard food but good. I recommend the burger and fries. Mom got the onion rings, and she loved them.
