I am a big fan of Chinese food, and it’s extremely rare for me to dislike it this much. I ordered the dumplings and the beef and broccoli, and both were very disappointing. The dumplings were completely bland and came with a small amount of watered down sauce, which wasn’t nearly enough for the number of dumplings provided. The beef and broccoli were also watery and lacked any real flavor. I was genuinely excited to eat Chinese food as it is one of my favorites, which made this even more disappointing.

My honest review of my first time eating here. The hot and sour soup was neither hot nor sour. Big portions of not great chinese. The promotions they run are confusing, and seems non applicable to most orders. Uber prices are a scam, its $40 for 2 meals, why not just make it $20 each and be honest. Lastly: orders in the 80s and making a big mistake of switching beef for chicken. Come on youre open long enough, and for your type of food this shouldn’t happen that early, maybe ticket 100+

I made an uber eats order and the store was not organized at all. I believe I spoke to a worker Emerson and he was being very rude over the phone. I asked him if my food was still hot because it was sitting there for 45 minutes and he just hung up the phone on me. Very poor service. Emerson (sounded Mexican) was being very rude.

The beef was decent but I’ve never had the displeasure of being subjected to such awful dumplings in the entirety of my years on Earth. The wrapper was, in texture, strongly reminiscent of playdough and an order of magnitude too thick. You might read this and think it hyperbolical: if so, consider that an initial bite into these “dumplings” returned nothing but this tasteless compound of flour and god-knows-what. Shockingly, this was a blessing in light of the horror which was the filling. Said filling, purportedly chicken, had the flavour and feeling of rubber ground together with undercooked gizzard and smushed into a mold by a hydraulic press. Service and seating were not elaborate but not offensive, especially compared to the “dumplings,” do not order them ever. The other dishes were more palatable, if only compared to the dumplings.

The good and the bad: rating 1-10
I got the lunch special sesame chicken with sweet and sour soup and the dumpling special. The chicken was a 5 fair, but needs more sauce with it. The rice was a 7 good. And the soup was a 3 (and that’s taking in account you try another taste after the first. The first taste is terrible, but then it becomes a weird spicy taste.) The dumplings were a 2, very not good and the fried wontons were terrible a 0. Also I’ve gotten their beef egg rolls what a mistake and waste of money. You can’t taste any beef in there or even see any, and the rest inside of the egg roll is just horrible. I tasted the crispy beef once and it’s amazing, however it comes with a very big price tag that’s not worth paying for.
Unfortunately in 5Towns there’s not many options for good Chinese food, so if you’re desperate it might be worth it, but this is my last time coming. I’m sticking with their sushi store, which is only worth it if you plan on buying 3 rolls. Otherwise Sushi Tokyo is the better option.

The food is really dry and has no flavoring. I got the beef and broccoli and beef buns. Very overcooked and really chewy. Not a fan.

I was pretty pleased with the service, and one of the things we ordered (steamed beef/eggplant) we both liked. I ordered buns (too doughy for my own tastes) and scallion pancakes (so much fried batter it overwhelmed the taste a bit) but the filling inside was OK so on balance I can’t really complain. One thing I really liked that the restaurant can’t really claim credit for: in late afternoon, the sun hits the other side of the street, so it is VERY shady if you are eating outside. Also, the sushi looked nice (though I didn’t get any).

I didn’t place the order but I doubt the kashrut here the “Mesgiach” didn’t even know basic kashrut. He didn’t know whether or not the meat was beit Yosef. He just knew it came from Solomon’s meat.
