We have lived in Franklin County for decades. Had not made it to see Palouse falls. My brother is friends with the owners of Sonny’s and told us to go there for a meal since Washtucna is close to the falls. We were pleasantly surprised by everything about this place ! The decor when we walked in, the merch, the crowd of people were laughing and happy. We ordered burgers that were excellent One of the best burgers I’ve ever had! The coating on the fries was yummy! The owner was our waitress and we talked about how my brother and her were longtime friends. We will definitely be back. I would make the drive from Pasco for this food !

Stopped for lunch after going to Palouse Falls and what a surprise! It doesn’t look like much from the outside but once you walk through the doors it is a completely different world! The atmosphere is very great, the bathroom is pristine, and you are greeted warmly by the staff. The Dillisious burger was awesome and the beer battered fries were to die for! So glad we stopped!!!!!

What a great place to plan a meal to-from Pullman! So glad I stopped. You guys said that if I like pickles then I need the Dillicious Burger in my life and you weren’t wrong! Loved the local beef, service and vibe. The connection with cattle ranching and branding throughout the restaurant is really cool

We were greeted with smiles when we walked in. After a fun day of taking our mom to the Palouse falls we saw this place on the way there and thought that might be a good place to try for lunch. “AND” so glad we came in. We had the dillicious (love the name) burger and the sweet heat burger. My mom had chicken tenders and tots. Everything was amazing. We will be back. The place was pretty full for lunch around 12:30 everyone looked happy and satisfied. Our server was so sweet and checked on us we never needed anything. What an amazing yummy restaurant!!!

Washtucna is a town that your keyboard will almost certainly try to auto-correct when you type it in…but type it into your maps app and get adventure over to the burgeoning metropolis of the town specifically for Sonny’s Tavern…go immediately! The beef is locally produced and a chest freezer by the exit makes it possible to take home frozen beef for your home cooking…I had the low-key famous fried chicken…it was awesome…the ambience was filled with local farmers, ranchers and passerby’s….every staffer was kind and helpful…women’s room was clean and tidy….the place was bustling and it was nice to see such success from a small business in a small town….the food and service were great!

This is a really fancy and well designed/decorated place for what it is in a tiny little town . I’ve tried both a burger and the fried chicken and they’re both some of the best I’ve ever had . Garry ( the cook ) is an extremely positive and a funny guy who made my experience here that much better , and he has cooked my orders to perfection, both times I’ve visited . Yes , I had both a burger and fried chicken twice , I eat a lot ^.^
Overall I’m glad I’ve stopped by in this tiny town and had this amazing experience on my way to WSU from Seattle and back . I will make the trip out here every once in a while once I start school , well worth the trip.

Stopped in our our drive home after a Cougar Football game. The jalapeño poppers and burgers were delicious. The owner and restaurant staff were friendly and made sure we had all we needed. Love the WSU cougar gold cheese option for the burgers as well as the Ferdinand’s grabbers. Will definitely be making the stop at Sonny’s more often! Go Cougs!

Located right in the center of eastern Washington’s desert, I wasn’t expecting anything fancy. Visiting around noon on a weekend, it was clear that this is a popular spot for locals to gather and enjoy food and drinks. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly, as were the burgers—dishes that are hard to get wrong. If you’re looking for a place to eat before or after visiting Palouse Falls, this could be a good choice.

Great place to stop on your way through the towns of eastern Washington. Super friendly. Nice tables. Clean bathrooms. They also have cool merch if you want a souvenir. The owners are huge WSU fans, Go Cougs!

This was a really good find on the way to WSU. The “dillicious” burger didn’t disappoint in being so scrumptious I wanted another one. The BLT was also solid, with thick slices of bacon on farmhouse bread, with flavorful tomatoes. Tots were super hot and very crispy, as were the fries. Atmosphere was warm and welcoming (1 less star as it was definitely a slightly more bare bones/people come here to chow down kind of place). We’ll be back for sure.
