Let me start off by saying it wasn’t bad in the typical way restaurants can be. There a few things working against them.
1. The prices here are absurd. $80 for 2 people for bland , pre-packaged Cisco food. The shrimp is imported and the chicken was dark meat. Everything tasted cheap and oily. The boiled seafood prices start at $115.00 and go to almost $200. . . So be prepared for that.
2. The staff is run by the most uninterested, uninformed people ive seen in a while. They had no idea what kind of fish they served , if the chicken was white or dark meat , etc…
3. The atmosphere was dark and quiet. I don’t recall music being played. I could only hear the staff talking and laughing it up in the back.
Over all, this was a strange experience, not terrible, just didnt like the vibe, the food or the atmosphere. And the sticker shock was the final straw.
We gave it a try so you dont have to.

I love going to yaba. They have great seafood bags and It is one of my favorite places to get ramen. So I always end up spending just a little bit too much because I like to take seafood home with me.
But the owners and workers are freaking awesome and pay attention to their dining room and customers.

I was looking for a ramen place since my favorite ramen shop was closed that day. Google showed me Yaba kitchen. I dined in, was the only customer in the restaurant that day. Service was good, very quick (would hope so being the only one), and the atmosphere was all right. I got the impression from the menu and decor that seafood is their specialty, with everything else coming second. The food ranged from “good” to “okay”. The spring rolls were small but crispy and had good flavor, and the side salad was decent. The ramen was honestly a let down, but I also have very high standards for my restaurant ramen bowls. The ingredients weren’t bad, but everything was a step below expectation. The noodles were thin and had no heft. The broth was watery and did not have the robust flavor I was looking for. The chashu was the best part of the bowl, unfortunately there just wasn’t enough.
It’s ramen that will do in a pinch, but I think from now on I’ll probably wait until my favorite ramen shop is open, even if it takes an extra day or two.

Blown away by the Cajun Seafood boil, Ramen and crab Rangoon! Everything was made fresh and came to the table quickly. The young lady serving us was really nice and helpful. It’s super clean and the decor is really cute! This place is such a vibe and I can’t express enough how delicious the seafood was. The ginger salad was also so good and the lettuce was fresh and crispy. 10/10 will be back!

The taste of my food was good until I found several strands of hair in my food and it was gross from there on. I called the store and spoke with the person (guy) that took my order, but later found out he was not the person in charge. I was refused a refund and was told to bring the food back into the store, mind you I do stay over 30 miles away. I threw the remaining order away. I don’t recommend this place.

Coming from 40 years of Japanese martial arts and attached culture and food on the Pacific Coast I am probably a snob but there just is simply no ramen in southern Louisiana that tastes “authentic.” Except this place. Food is good. Service is good. Well worth the visit.
