Of course we had to order the Kalbijjim (갈비찜), considering that it was our first time here. The wait wasn’t too long, being no longer than 30 minutes for such a large/sharable portion (see images). It was enough food for us not to be able to finish in one sitting, again, a very generous portion. The beef, rice, and sides, everything was absolutely delicious.

I’m not too familiar with pricing when it comes to Korean cuisine, but this was priced at $82 (regular size), apparently there’s a larger size…
The food court was very lively, which was enjoyable to eat in. A bit of a loud environment, but not too loud to a point where we were yelling to hear each other.

This is my favorite shop in H Mart food hall. They have good quality of traditional Korean Beef Rib Soup and Bone Soup. First time ordered beef rib soup noodle and noodle it’s chewy and taste better than ramen. Soup base has beef bone aroma too. Highly recommended

Combination oxtail soup and dolsot bibimbap were incredible. The tendon pieces were perfectly cooked and the broth was milky and delicious. The bibimbap had great crispy bits and a Smokey smell. Honestly, eating this in the H-Mart food court just adds to the experience.

The woman at the front was very friendly and always wore a smile. Great food and great workers.

It feels like I’ve written reviews for every Daeho location! I’ve been to them all! I sometimes order takeout from the H-Mart location because it’s close to my house.

I don’t know how they manage it, but Daeho’s food tastes consistent across all their locations! There’s no specific branch that’s better or worse—they’re truly all the same! This really shows the importance of good management!

Today, our menu consisted of Spicy Short Rib Soup and Beef Tripe Soup!

The best beef you’ll get anywhere in town. Their seafood beef soup was so tasty that we always get it. And their Kalbijjim with cheese is not only a treat to your stomach, but a treat to your eye too. We used to go to their Japantown location all the time, but we are so glad they open this second location in Ocean View.

Stopped in to order the infamous kalbijim. Decided to get the kalbijim with oxtail (medium spicy level), extra meat, noodles, rice cake, and purple rice. It was kinda pricey but it was a hefty portion (felt like about 10 lbs). It normally feeds 3-4 people according to the staff. It came with some boncon, kimchee, green onion kimchee, and radish kimchee. The short ribs were extremely tender and flavorful. The oxtail was also tender but not as flavorful as the short ribs. So 2 of us shared this and we still had enough for basically 3 more servings. So in actuality price was ok. My mom tried it and she liked it and asked where we bought it from. Overall good food, and while I like oxtail I think next time I’ll just get the short ribs.

Food: 3/5
Service: 3/5
Ambiance: 3/5
Overall: The good thing is this place doesn’t have a line compared to the one in Japan town. The pricing however is somewhat ridiculous for some things.
Would I come back: Wouldn’t be my first choice.

The extended review…

Food:

Kalbi Tang with Rice cake – 3/5 – A decent dish but I only got it because the price for kalbijim is so ridiculous. I was able to get my fix of kalbi and rice cake which was overall pretty standard fare.

Service: 3/5 – Standard service.

Ambiance: 3.5/5 – The food court feel is better than a normal mall but only slightly.

This is indeed the best kalbijjim i ate on east coast. As the most recommend korean food in SF and wortb to try if you’re curious about kalbijjim.

The meat is so tender and flavorful, and fresh . Really easy to pull of from the bone.

Their version of kalbijjim is more on sweet area while you can taste the pear.
Its def a better version than original taste on korea for me.

The portion is quite big for 5-6 person.
And also get side dish.

My sister said the last time she ordered the beef soup, it was like the broth in the bowl was hiding among the slices of meat and noodles. But this time around when I went with her, she noticed that the meat was drowning in broth that you have to dig deep to reach for the meat and noodles Our orders were really hot that I almost burned my tongue but they were sooo good that we had to share the dishes between the two of us.
