Incredible brisket❤️ they slice it right in front of you and let you choose how lean or fatty you want it. Portions are very generous. My husband and I shared a plate and added the smoked half chicken, which they split for us. The sauce was solid, the seasoning had great spice, and the queso mac was comfort-food perfection with just a little kick. Paired with a Mexican Coke, it was the perfect lunch. Free and easy parking in their lot makes it even better. A really fantastic spot.

Hands down the best BBQ I ever had, and I have traveled all over the US including Texas many times. The brisket here stood out. He uses the best beef and it definitely shows. The jalapeno cheddar sausage was incredible. The sides were packed with flavor something I don’t see in most BBQ places. Usually the Mac and cheese and potato salad aren’t as flavorful, but Shotgun Willie’s were just the opposite and too good. The bourbon banana pudding was delicious too. I highly recommend this place. Also the service was excellent. The owner is very friendly too.

Stopped in here from out of town after doing some Google searches for Nashville BBQ. Arrived around noon and there was a line out the door.. great sign for BBQ. They had a person assigned to help keep the line tight and moving. Lots of local Nashville decor, stickers, pics, posters, etc on the walls with some humorous ones mixed in.
The first person I saw working the food counter was owner, Bill. Very polite and seemed excited to serve and help each person and gives off a vibe that makes you feel that he’s happy you stopped in. I asked his preference on which hot link he preferred and I could tell he gave me his honest answer and wanted me to enjoy my experience.
The food is excellent.. the brisket had a well developed bark on it without drying out. The hot link was good. The pit smoked beans are great, they have a little bit of a mustard/vinegar tang that I really enjoyed, they’re definitely not traditional baked beans if thats what you want. Green beans were good. The dill potato salad was awesome.
The cashier helped me get a T shirt and BBQ sauce to take home. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone and i will return any time i come through Nashville. I had a sense that each staff member really cared about what they were doing and cared about the product. Everything was as advertised and I appreciate the service I got.

We arrived 45 minutes after opening and there was a solid line of hungry meat-eating Americans out the door. We stepped up to order about 30 minutes later and ordered a healthy portion of smoked beef brisket with two southern sides and a wedge of cornbread. We also ordered a half rack of pork ribs to split because one order is enough to feed two people. The frontline staff and the gentleman at the front door were so friendly despite the crowd. Shotgun Willie’s is definitely worthy of its Michelin Star!

OMG!!! Stop what you’re doing and head over to Shotgun Willie’s. We are BBQ aficionados from Texas and wanted some good BBQ. We got it. After looking at Yelp pictures for 30 minutes of places where the BBQ looked suspicious, we found Shotgun Willie’s. The owner (Bill) is the biggest Houston Oiler fan (my husband was drafted by the Oilers) and is extremely friendly and hands on with customers. He made us feel welcome and served us with love. The food….you can’t beat. Stop by this week and tell him we sent you!!!

I’d give this place six stars if I could, the BBQ was delicious and very Texan and the owner and staff were so friendly! The brisket was just unbelievable and all the fixins were just right. The potato salad and hominy special were SO flavorful, and I’m not a banana pudding girl but theirs was fantastic and not too rich.

Friendly guys on the food prep line. Gave me a preview of what I was getting. Going to a Texas Bbq spot outside of Texas I had some concerns, but their treatment of brisket was truly Texas style, and their pulled pork was actually better than the 6 actual Texas spots I visited. The pulled pork is shredded on the spot. Brisket sandwich with beans and a pulled pork sandwich with potato salad. And a banana pudding, with bananas and wafers. Enjoy.

Pretty good barbecue, nothing too crazy. Went only an hour after they were open and they were sold out of brisket and nearly pulled pork. Not sure how, it’s not that good. Beans were meh, Mac and cheese was mediocre.

Decent BBQ restaurant! They make all their meats in house. We ordered the chicken and the brisket. Both were very juicy and well flavored. The potato salad, Mac and cheese and cornbread were all delicious!! The vibes in the restaurant were also very very cool and feel just like Texas BBQ.

We found this amazing BBQ restaurant by sheer luck. The brisket and ribs were moist, flavorful and delicious! We had a great time chatting with Bill about France (where we’re from) and other travels around the world. We will definitely go back the next time we visit Nashville and will also recommend it to our friends!
