2 weeks ago I moved from Atlanta, GA to Clifton Forge. The food at this establishment is easily on par with the fine dining experiences in Atlanta, and surpasses many. The food and drink pairing suggestions are magnificent, the balance of flavors was sublime. I am ecstatic to have found such an amazing restaurant unassumingly nestled in Clifton Forge. They have a great wine menu, a good beer menu, and a simply delectable dessert menu! Thank you so much for this taste of fine dining and service to match!

I am so glad Cafe Michel’s decided to move back to our hometown because I had never tried it but when I finally did I loved it! The steak that I have ordered twice there is delicious and my favorite thing is the side of pasta. I could eat that as a main dish! It’s so amazing. Michel is always coming out and greeting his guests which shows how kind and hospitable he is. All of the staff are very friendly as well. Definitely recommend!

After 6 years in the area, I finally ate at Cafe Michel’s. It is generally considered to be one of 2 upper scale restaurants in the area ( the other being “The Cat and the Owl” in Low Moor). I ate here with a large group from work. I had the Scallops Almandine. I am a big fan of Scallops. I believe that these were the best I have ever had. Everyone in the group stated that their meals were also very good. It is a small restaurant with white tablecloths but it is not necessary to dress up. If you are celebrating something, dressing nicely would go well with the decor. The chef, Michel, came out to greet us. He reportedly has worked at the White House and the Homestead. The prices are probably the highest for our area. I consider the value to be very good since the food is excellent. I highly recommend it for special occasions.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here! The food and service were both excellent. Just about everything is made in-house from high quality ingredients. Prices are very fair. Don’t forget to leave room for dessert, there are crepes and creme brullee (and more)!

Everything was remarkable. Too stuffed to take on desert but I can’t imagine it wouldn’t also have been exceptional.
The wine list was small but sufficient with enough coverage to handle any pairing. Very reasonable prices on the wines.

What a lovely meal and wonderful service. Everything was prepared to perfection. The waitstaff was extremely attentive. All was well until we signed the $800 tab, and we were asked to leave to make room for the next group. Don’t believe I will be able to go back to a place where the owner does not appreciate your business.

My friends have been talking about this place for some time now. Well, I must say… it lives up to the hype! I had a fabulous meal… salmon poached in lobster sauce! The space is small and intimate, the waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. Nice wine selection… An all around great experience. Cannot wait to return!
