An absolutely outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere feels upscale yet welcoming with its beautiful details that feels like a warm hug. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of authentic Italian flavor – fresh pasta cooked perfectly, rich sauces, and ingredients that clearly stand out. Loved how their menu was curated to be small but intentional (easier for me since I get decision fatigue with overwhelming choices on larger menus). The team was attentive and timed everything just right without ever feeling rushed. Drinks were spot on and elevated our dinner even more. The desserts were the perfect finale and definitely worth saving room for! I Cavallini sets a high bar and we’ll be coming back soon. Highly recommended! Lastly, shoutout to the GM Kendra for her amazing energy and making our evening extra special.

I Cavellini completely blew me away! The Trofie Pesto & Belper Knolle pasta was nothing short of amazing — I’d give it a 15/10. A definite must-try! The Farfallone with Calabrian chili butter & smoked pancetta was equally delicious — packed with flavor but not spicy.

And the tiramisu… oh my goodness! It was so good we literally inhaled it in 30 seconds. Every bite was pure perfection.

If you love Italian food done to perfection, I Cavellini is an absolute must-visit!

I Cavallini was a major letdown.

Service started off meh. Sure, they filled our glasses at the beginning but after that, it was sparse at best. Our table felt largely ignored by multiple staff members, and long stretches went by without anyone checking in. It wasn’t attentive or polished; it just felt disorganized.

Meal pacing was painfully slow. Courses dragged with noticeable gaps in between, and the evening felt unnecessarily drawn out.

The food and drinks were mediocre across the board. Nothing memorable, nothing particularly well-executed…it was really just average. At this price point and being part of the Four Horsemen group, “average” is not acceptable.

The value is honestly the worst part. Overpriced and low quality is a tough combination to justify. The Four Horsemen has phenomenal food, service, and overall experience. I Cavallini doesn’t come close.

Brooklyn has far too many strong dining options to spend this kind of money here. Not worth it.

Good spot, very tasty pasta’s. The focaccia with whipped ricotta was delicious! We enjoyed the Calabrian chili pasta as well as pesto, although the portions are very small, even for a fancy Italian place. The main entree we got was the chicken, it was tender, and the sauce was quite unique and good.
With tax my total came out to $230, which I have to say is a bit much for 2 people, no drinks, and small portion size. I enjoyed it overall though

we had an amazing experience on a wednesday night. first time dining here and i have zero complaints. we were welcomed warmly and the atmosphere is cozy. the wild arugula and pear salad was perfect, farfallone with chili butter and breadcrumbs was such a unique pasta dish an indulgent blend of flavors and textures, rainbow trout simultaneously subtle and luxurious, and the pork chop just might be the best i’ve had. add a couple of fantastic cocktails, a super creamy tiramisu and beyond impeccable service by Nicole, and it became a perfect way to treat someone for their birthday! we will definitely be back.

The single best meal we’ve had in NYC in years. Delicious but inventive and astoundingly flavorful and fresh, dishes have a cozy familiarity yet still surprise. Didn’t leave a single crumb behind on our plates. Barely took any photos because the food mattered most.

Ideal service with great people, great room, music, vibe, lighting, art on the walls. Even the bar seats are fantastic. But still most importantly food is mind blowing, left feeling good and healthy and did the next day, dreaming and talking about what we ate the night before.

Hats off to everyone at I Cavallini they are not horsing around can’t wait to eat here again.

This was my second dinner at I Cavallini in the last 2 months. Both times as a walk-in diner. The first time solo, this time as a group of 3.

Nick and his team have simply done an incredible job. The kitchen is inventive, the staff are warm and enthusiastic about the restaurant. Keeps you coming back for sure.

I can’t fault any part of the menu. I’ve had the opportunity to try most of the pasta. And about 40-50% of the rest of the dishes. Standouts for me were the nervetti, cucumbers, lettuces, trofie, farfallone, trout, and pork chop. What really surprised me was how good their desserts were. Typically I expect to end the night with a fernet and a scoop of some sorbet but they absolutely crush it with their tiramisu, gelato, and cakes! Do not skip the desserts.

Finally, a shout out to Flo for putting together a phenomenal Italian list, and for elevating each meal with her bottle selections!

I really can’t say enough great things about I Cavallini! We’ve been fortunate enough to have dined here a few times now, and have secured a reservation for an upcoming birthday. Each time we’ve been, we’ve tried something new and have never found a single critique. I typically don’t order wine, but the last time we visited, I asked our server her recommendation, and she chose a wine based on our order which was so spot on! Every member of the staff is so knowledgeable and kind.

If ur a solo diner you can get a smaller pasta portion which is greatly appreciated to say the least. The highlights were the tiramisu (which wasn’t intensely coffee flavored which is what I would want) and the mezze maniche. The mezze was almost like a cacio e pepe with some shredded pork. I wish the ricotta of the focaccia had more pumpkin to it to give it more of the flavor
