Pretty good experience overall – chill atmosphere, friendly wait staff, and yummy comforting and flavorful food. I enjoyed the garlic flavor of my ramen. It was so strong I could still taste it in my mouth the next day lol. The pork was flavorful and tender. The egg was cooked to perfection. The noodles were kinda hard and were what made the food aspect of this review lose a star. I was expecting something better for “homemade noodles.”

Black Dynasty Ramen has some of the best ramen I’ve had in ages. Mitchell’s is amazing alone, but to be able to stop by after hours for some incredible ramen is top tier. Grab a sandwich at Mitchell’s for lunch, stop by later in the evening for some insanely flavorful and enriching ramen to put some warmth into your bones.

Okay, I hate to do this but- the ramen is not as good at it was previously. The broth lacks flavor, I had to add crispy oil just for my broth to have some sort of depth. The gyozas were always my favorite; however, this time around they were soggy and the flavor was lacking. They did have a new pork dish “mini chashu don”, which was absolutely AMAZING!!! I would go back for that dish alone. Unfortunately for the ramen, likely not. This used to be my favorite ramen place but unfortunately it just didn’t hit anymore. I’m not sure if they changed their ingredients or techniques or lost a chef but it’s noticeably different from when they used to be at their previous location.

Now let’s talk about their current prices. Yikes!!! Expensive we spent $170 for 4 people. The add ons to the ramen were absolutely over priced $2 bucks for 1 baby bok Choy sliced in half- absolutely not!

Let’s shift to their location. Black dynasty is now in east Nashville. They share a location with Mitchell Deli. Im never one to judge a restaurant for their location but for the price you’re paying, I expect a better ambiance.

To end the review and to summarize overall the experience was not great feels like it lost its charm. The staff was friendly which was probably the best part and of course the chashu don. I might give this place another shot, maybe the night was rough.

Black Dynasty Ramen is a standout culinary gem in Nashville—an absolute must for any serious foodie seeking authentic Japanese flavors and heartfelt hospitality. From the very first bite, the ramen at Black Dynasty transports diners straight to Japan, blending nostalgia, bold depth, and genuine warmth in every bowl.

Every visit to Black Dynasty is memorable—the ramen boasts a rich, comforting broth and perfectly textured noodles, making it hands down the best ramen in Nashville. The flavors are consistent, elevating each return trip, and every dish on the menu—from savory sides to delicately crafted desserts—shows impressive care and creativity.

The brew house is a perfect pairing, offering refreshing drinks and a vibrant atmosphere that elevates the meal into an all-around magical experience. The passionate staff genuinely strive for excellence in both presentation and taste, creating a welcoming ambiance that makes everyone want to come back.

Thanks to Jimmy for introducing this spot—now it’s a place filled with fond memories and truly special meals. Black Dynasty is not just a restaurant, but a celebration of flavor and community, and every visit feels like a mini journey to Japan, right in the heart of Tennessee.
If you crave exceptional ramen and a magical dining experience, Black Dynasty Ramen is where you want to be. It’s a treasure—one taste and you’ll want to return again and again.

Stopped in with some friends for an amazing bowl of ramen!

Pros: absolutely delicious food. Limited menu means the freshest ingredients! And it tastes like it.
That spicy chili blend is amazing. I brought home the rest of the container for eggs or avocado toast
The special friendship ramen was amazing! I should have brought half of it home, but I couldn’t stop eating it to make my mouth happy

Cons: first come, first served seating and QR code ordering aren’t my favorite. Plus a lot of people are there for the beer and you’re waiting for a table. We grabbed a table before they’d even bussed it because we didn’t want someone else to beat us to it!

That’s not to say the service is bad. The service is good. The whole food runner crew takes care of you, so that’s good.

It’s worth the wait if you see people finishing their food.
If you’re hungry, though, maybe go have the closest friend hold a table. We did see someone doong that. Smart.

Black Dynasty stands apart from the Nashville ramen scene thanks to their commitment to fresh, from scratch food (yep – even the noodles) and authenticity in honoring such a complex and ritualistic dish. The vegan option is always fantastic, no matter the seasonal spin, and there’s even sometimes a vegan dessert or app on the menu. The location inside a brewery keeps them true to their “secret” nature, and their effective serve-yourself model is a great way to see two individual businesses co-existing successfully.

Easily the best ramen in Nashville. The food is superb, albeit somewhat pricey. It’s rare to find house-made ramen noodles around here. We will most definitely be returning for a special occasion.

Overpriced and under served. Ramen is good but nothing special. Bartender greeted me with “que paso” because I’m not white I assume. Would not go out of my way to eat ramen here; plenty of other places in town

Pro:
1. The food is amazing.
2. We had the Hell fire Ramen, Garlic Ramen & Gyoza. All of them tasted good.
3. Atmosphere is good. Restaurant is nice and clean.
4. These all 4 star goes to kitchen team.

Cons:
1. 20% service charge but no service. I have no problem for paying service charge/tip. But please give me good service at-least.
2. When you enter, no one will greet you and seat you at your table. You have to find your own table.
3. Now again no one will again greet you at your table, you have to scan your own code and order your food.
4. So I wanted 2 glasses of water, after waiting for 10 mins I did not see any server whom I can stop and ask for water. Luckily some time later one of the servers came with water.
5. Owner should either find a way to pay better wage to the servers or give them some training on how they can be more nice or turn the place like a fast food place where you just go on the counter, order your food, pick it up when it is ready and get it to their own table.

Overall best place to visit for food!
Maybe try taking a take away. To avoid the unnecessary 20%
