We see a sign on 395 pointing us to this bakery. Never been there so we checked it out. They have a variety of baked good that are all baked on location. They have other products from other vendors. The store was clean and tidy. The bathroom had older fixtures but was adequate. The young man behind the counter was very friendly and personable. Not 5 stars because none of their bakery products had dates on how old they were or when baked. We bought a single sour ream twist. My guess it was a lwast three days old. Definitely a “got milk?”
Treat. You may be able to ask how old the items are to see if they are a little fresher than out treat was

We love this place!!! Great products, locally owned. They’ll be closed until January 14th, 2026, for cleaning, but will be back soon. We can’t wait!!!

A client brought me a pack of the Bread Box’s gingerbread cookies as a Christmas gift. They are delicious, super cute and made me so happy for days. I encourage people to gift the ones they love with these cookies! So good, I have one left so I’ll be back before the season is over. ❄️ YUM!

The best store to find great, good, and more natural products. They sticky bans, pies and cinnamon rolls are amazing. Even the gluten FRIENDLY bread that I bought it was tasty, soft, and really yummy. I highly recommend them.

Carolyn is beyond a blessing! Their baked goods are the best and don’t forget the Amish butter it is the best I have ever had. The cookies are delicious and soft too.
God bless you & your family Carolyn, I am beyond thankful to have met you and your family on my trip to your area.

Awesome little place, with lots of condiments, baked goods, and assorted knick-knacks. They always have tasty products. There are two negatives, the distance you have to drive to get there, and you never know exactly what they’re going to have in stock at the time. We were hoping to pick up a certain type of pie they make, but there weren’t any available. Still, we loaded up on other things. We may not make the drive up there again, and just rely on their farmers market visits instead.

Cute little Mennonite bakery. Love all the decor inside and the options that they have regarding sandwiches, breads, cookies, chips, seasonings, drinks, etc. The young gals working could have been a little bit more friendly and smiled, but aside from that it was a cute place. Not really totally outstanding baked goods but still fun to go in and support a little business.

Headed to Canada for the weekend and decided to stop. The banana nut bread was fabulous. Very moist, fresh and very tasty! My husband and I agreed, best we had in a long time. Friendly staff and prices are fair- $5.50 for a nice size loaf.

Wonderful locally-owned bakery. The owners are very nice. Their food is good quality. I have a sweet tooth, so I prefer my bakery items a little sweeter. But their stuff is quality and well-made. Love the Italian bread and the sour cream lemon twists!
Warning: they sell out very quickly! Word has spread and since Chewelah has lots of older folks, they tend to shop early in the morning and empty the shelves. So get there early before they run out of stuff!
