We made reservations here VERY last minute for a Texas Tech college grad. We were a bit nervous because we’d never been, but it turned out to be one of the best meals we had in Lubbock. The beef Wellington was perfectly cooked and the scallops were some of the most tender i’ve ever eaten. It was BYOB (i’m not sure if they have their liquor license now- so maybe worth calling and asking). I’d absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a special place.

Our group started with bread and hors D Oeuvres that were delicious. For entrees we had lobster Thermidor, beef Wellington and wagyu beef bourguignon all of which was delicious with great presentation. Finished with fantastic creme brulee, and bread pudding. Atmosphere was great with live music. Will definitely be back

Went here for lunch with work colleagues. It was fantastic! I had the avocado toast. Others has eggs Benedict and the croque madam. All were delicious. The chef came and visited with us and service was wonderful. No one could resist grabbing some pastries from the bakery before we left. Highly recommend for lunch! Will have to try dinner sometime.

May your all your bills stay paid & your pockets stay blessed 10 fold. We have enjoyed every. single. dish. Paul is hands down the best server we’ve had! The beef wellington is my absolute favorite next to the quail. My husband’s favorite is the duck. Please never get rid of the goat cheese, pear salad. Was obsessed with dessert thank you, truly a wonderful experience.

For my friend’s birthday, I wanted to take her somewhere special, and Chez Sami turned out to be the perfect choice. This cozy French spot delivered everything I was hoping for and more.

We ordered the French Toast and Eggs Benedict, and honestly, the food was amazing. Each dish was crafted with care and packed with flavor—Chef Jon clearly knows what he’s doing. To top it all off, he even came out to our table to chat with us, which made the experience feel even more personal and memorable.

The warm atmosphere, attentive service, and standout cuisine made for a birthday brunch to remember. I highly recommend Chez Sami for any special occasion—or just whenever you’re craving top-notch French food. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Heard good things about this restaurant and I enjoy supporting local businesses vs. national chains. The appetizers (bisque and pear salad) were enjoyable but the entrees were disappointing. The beef Wellington had the toughest piece of beef I’ve eaten. Maybe it was just an old cow.

If the restaurant could take more time into sourcing their beef, maybe this would help. Also if they taste the product they receive from their providers.

The cook itself was a perfect medium rare and their sauce was on point. The beef bourguignon was tasty as well, as was the sauce but the beef was room temp while the potatoes and sauce were hot.

The waitress was a delight and the owner came by to check on us and when we told him how things were, you could see his pained look. You could tell he cares about his customers and their experience. He offered to refund the Beef Wellington but we declined. We’d rather they just get better so that we can enjoy an excellent meal in the future. Next time bringing our own BYOB wine as well.

I’m not sure what to say about Chez Sami. I was really looking for a fine dining experience, but this wasn’t it. The server was lovely. A man who I would guess was the owner shook my hand and told me it meant a lot that I’d come. I was a bit surprised when the server said this was BYOB, so I just had water which was fine. The problem was the food. Although plated beautifully the flavors were just not what I’d expect for the price.

I started with a lobster bisque that was topped with a gorgeous puff pastry. The bisque itself was so hot it was hard to eat even after waiting. I also did not find single piece of lobster. The taste was good. It had that buttery velvet texture.

I also ordered the lobster gnocchi. I had several bites but the gnocchi was mush. I was later told this was because it was made from flour instead of potato. The lobster itself was very rubbery. Definitely not a $50 dish. The server came to check and I was honest. She was wonderful and insisted they replace it. I asked for the Braised short ribs with a red wine reduction. It was better. The ribs were very tender. I may have been wrong about reduction because I believe it was a brown gravy. Accompanying veggies were overcooked as well.

I hate leaving reviews like this but it’s honest.

The layout and ambience of this restaurant was open, warm, and inviting! I had their quiche which was baked into a puff pastry. The crunch of the puff pastry, the combination of eggs, ham, and cheese were excellent! I also enjoyed my fruit plate versus being served a fruit cup. I would definitely dine here again!

my boyfriend took me here on a date and it was amazing!! Such great service and amazing food. we split beef wellington and lobster gnocchi was perfect! My boyfriend also enjoyed his food a lot – he’s sometimes picky – so there’s something for everyone. Truly a gem for lubbock! Also it’s decorated so cute will definitely be back.

A great little spot in Lubbock. A cool French vibe with cool paintings and live music some nights. We were a little disappointed there was a pre fix menu that was not very well advertised but the food was still great! Our service was okay but the sommelier was fantastic and had a great selection!
