I’ve been here a total of four times to really get a feel for the place. The food is okay, but I believe it would taste better if the customer service were better. The older man who cooks is extremely rude. On one occasion, one of the younger staff members messed up my order, and he blamed me for it. Another time, I walked in, said hi, and was met with the nastiest look from him. When I placed my order, he seemed upset that I didn’t order more.
The female staff members, on the other hand, have much better customer service skills. The atmosphere gives me an “uppity hood” vibe—cool enough to eat at, with decent prices. They even gave me 10% off my next order to fill out this review, but it’s safe to say I won’t be returning.

Clean! The up keep of this establishment is immaculate. A hidden gem. Food is delicious. Prices are a steal. Service felt like I was at home with family. I will definitely be back. This is true southern hospitality.

As a older person ordering food from restaurants can be difficult. But I have eaten at this restaurant several times now, and the food is always cooked to order. Soft enough for me to chew with out breaking a tooth. Comes out crispy and piping hot. The service is excellent and time to sit in and eat with out staff rushing you out of the restaurant.

Secret Menu Item – ask for Hot Wings with the Slim Sauce. They may or may not have it but it’s like their sweet heat but 10 times better. Toss some lemon pepper sprinkles on it.

What a wonderful surprise to walk into DA KORNER CAFAYE and be greeted by distinguished and multi-faceted business owner, Ms. Faye, herself! This establishment has been in operation for 40+ years and occupies a humble lot on the corner of Memorial Drive and Wyman Street in the historic Kirkwood neighborhood, Dekalb County, GA. Ms. Faye runs a tight ship. The family-owned restaurant is in pristine condition and offers plenty of seating, even boasting televisions, a modest bar, and a small entertainment stage. These dazzling details aside, I ordered and enjoyed a first-rate omelet, prepared with love. I am happy to announce that this will be the first of many returns trips to this wonderful establishment!
