For our main, we had the whole branzino, which was cooked perfectly. We were surprised with a refreshing intermezzo sorbet before dessert. And then we finished with the chocolate mousse and the Study of a Bee dessert, and both were absolutely outstanding.
Everything we tried was flavorful and so thoughtfully prepared. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive, and the drinks were just as good as the food. Maeva so special & I can’t wait to come back!
The service from the moment we arrived was more than welcoming, and we even had our furry baby in his stroller, and there were no complaints at all. The outdoor seating is spacious enough and does not feel crowded at all. Indoor the restaurant was clean and we were impressed because unfortunately not every restaurant keeps that in mind.
Onto the drinks, my husband asked for an americano, which he mentioned they used high quality beans because the taste of the coffee was not bitter at all. As for me I had a mocha latte and it was the perfect ratio of sweetness and keeping the aroma of the coffee. With our coffee we got a coffee cake and that was really good! the density was perfect, and the flavors you can really tell one from each other.
The main courses we had an Early rise which was a sourdough bread, which is made in house and you can really tell, and a chicken katsu sando. GUYS!! the bread from the sandwich not only was made in house but the flour is straight from FRANCE!! Needless to say, the cripiness of the chicken katsu was PERFECT and not soggy at all. It was paired with a coleslaw and it was not overpowering but everything paired PERFECT. Going back to the Early Rise, the eggs, slighty scrambled and the pickled onion and radish gave it a hint of flavor that my husband mentioned that it was very well balanced.
So far, we are thinking of coming during valentines day because they will have a course dinner ALL week long! and we truly do not want to miss that!
5/5 in all categories, you truly wont be dissapointed!
The service has been excellent every visit. We’ve experienced counter service, a full dinner service, and weekend brunch, and the team has been great across the board.
The first time I discovered MAEVA as a coffee shop. I didn’t recognize many of the pastries, not usually my lane, but I was genuinely wow’d and immediately knew I needed to come back.
So my wife and I returned for dinner and did the tasting menu, and the food is the real hit here. Every course felt Michelin star level. Creative, thoughtful, and packed with flavor. The ambiance at night is amazing too. Moody in the best way, with beautiful decor and furniture. It’s a perfect date night spot, and it also works great with a group because they have different seating options plus a private dining room.
One surprise I loved was the wine list. A lot of the wines were organic, and even though I didn’t recognize many labels, everything we tried was excellent.
After two great experiences, we came back for weekend brunch, because if you can’t do brunch you don’t really have us. Brunch was outstanding. The mimosa was great, the espresso martini was legit, and the food was anything but standard eggs and bacon. I had a breakfast sandwich that was seriously awesome.
If you’re looking for a top tier spot in Gilbert with a great patio, MAEVA is it. Five stars for ambiance, five stars for food, and five stars for service. We’ll be back.
Aesthetically this upscale euro-cafe is a stunner. While they are still operating in a limited schedule, and not yet serving brunch or dinner, what they are doing is pretty good.
The service is elegant (if a bit overstaffed) and attentive.
Our only quibbles were:
1) Mont Blanc coffee drink (we each ordered one) were weak, needing another shot of espresso to be better balanced.
2) we asked for our savory scone and lemon verbena pastry to be warmed. They were delivered cold. Tasty, but would have been better warm.
Overall? Recommended.
I opted for outside seating and I was transported to Paris with a trendy and cozy atmosphere.
I ordered the smoked salmon danish and for a drink I had surrealist socialite. Both items were delicious, the pastry is made in house with ingredients imported from France. My drink was perfectly refreshing.
Can’t wait to be back to try their dinner menu.
To top it off, the head chef even came out to chat with us, sharing insights about the dishes and making the experience feel personal and welcoming. The restaurant’s atmosphere is absolutely stunning — stylish and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a special night out.
Overall, the service went above and beyond, and the food was outstanding. Highly recommend!
