Marin Coffee Roasters has become my go-to treat after a long week! I always order their house coffee with a splash of heavy cream, and it never disappoints. THIS IS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE DRIVE-UP IN DOWNTOWN NOVATO. I go here every morning before work. It’s great. The baristas are super nice and very friendly. Coffee is very, very good. I honestly think I like the seasonal flavors at Marin Coffeen Roasters more than Starbucks’. The toasted marshmallow lattee is to die for. Its not candy coffee like Starbucks. Marin Roasters strikes a perfect balance between flavor and coffee, so youre still tasting coffee as well as flavoring. Pastries are also surprisingly good. Coffee is the same price as Starbucks.
As far as “atmosphere”, I go to the South Novato Blvd location which is a drive-up so there isnt really much atmosphere to be had to begin with which is why my atmosphere rating is 3 stars, but its still pretty cute. Do NOT take the 3 stars for atmosphere as a negative, its literally just because this specific location is a drive up building. The coffee place before them was also a drive up. The building they happen to occupy is specifically designed for drive up coffee. Also, they take walk-up orders and have dog treats. I don’t know why they wouldn’t do walk-up, but its still worth mentioning cause you can grab a coffee and a treat for your dog if you’re on a walk.
The Ignacio and San Anselmo location however ARE sit down cafes, but I’ve never been there. Judging by pictures, they look very nice and are the place you want to go to if you want to sit down and aren’t just picking up coffee and a pastry to go
TLDR the coffee is fantastic, I like it more than Starbucks, and the people are great. Go there. Support local and enjoy some of the best coffee in town.

Stopped in every chance we got while in the area. They come take your order at ur car and bring the drinks. Different varieties of coffee and tea, as well as freshly made to buy. We would come for the cookies and bakery items as well!

Drive-thru only location. WARNING: the people who take your order pre-select 20% tip before sending you the small screen to sign your name. This happens everyday. So if you want to leave a modest tip instead, you’ll need to deselect before signing and pressing submit. This is clearly a nasty trick designed to steal your money. I forgot that the coffee was decent because when someone steals my money and everything else goes out the window.

Not sure what is going on with this location but someone needs to retrain them on how to make a chai latte. It’s made perfectly at the other location in Novato, but for some reason at this location it tastes like chai flavored water. Hope this gets fixed as I used to love coming by here after a trip to Ace

I love Coffee Roasters. They have a fairly wide selection of drinks, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Also, I highly recommend their coffee cakes 🙂

Lovely local coffee shop primarily suited for drive through service. They have an assortment of hot and cold drinks. They do it the traditional way, meaning THEY ARE NOT STARBUCKS! Enjoy it. All the employees are awesome by the way.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality in espresso offered here. Has many milk alternative options. Super fast service (great when commuting to work on a time crunch AND as a mama with a napping little one or a restless toddler) Found the food options to be fresh and even ventured out of my comfort zone to try a burrito (personally enjoyed a meat option and friend had a vegetarian option and both of us couldnt have been more happy with either) 10/10 would return.
