We ordered two lattes, and ten minutes later we received one latte which was much hotter than a latte is meant to be, and a drip coffee. We told the barista this was incorrect, and the employees argued with each other about who was supposed to make the drink. Then they asked us if we ordered two drinks… obviously we had. They looked at us as if we were in the wrong. They took another 5 or 6 minutes to make the correct latte. It ended up tasting like water instead of turmeric. This place would absolutely not make it in a large city. They are lucky to be located in a place like Bozeman, which doesn’t expect much out of cafes.
The staff actually does “half sweet” when you say “half sweet”. And that is so hard to find.
The biscuit sandwich is so good and the cinnamon rolls are huge and delicious!
This is my favorite coffee shop to work at. There is always a table and always an outlet for my laptop. They also have much longer hours than most local coffee shops and I really appreciate that! I’ll keep coming back!
We got there at 9:30am and they were out of everything except a few bakery items that were not great. My husband got the Ana bread and it was good and tasteless. It looked stale.
We’ll definitely try again in the future, hopefully this is simply a matter of teething problems which is understandable.
Coffee seems decent, so no complaints there.
Mukai Coffeehouse is a gem that delivers an unforgettable experience—mostly for the right reasons. The moment I stepped in, the cozy ambiance wrapped around me like a warm blanket, with its charming decor and inviting atmosphere. But the real magic happened when I took my first sip and bite.
The Iced Cozy Maple was flawless. The harmonious blend of robust coffee, creamy milk, and a delicate maple sweetness was like drinking a crisp fall day. It’s the kind of drink that makes you pause and savor every sip, wondering how something so simple can be so extraordinary.
Then there’s the blueberry muffin—a revelation that redefined what a muffin could be. It was as if I had never had a blueberry muffin before. Each bite was a burst of juicy, fresh blueberries, cradled in a perfectly moist, tender crumb with a golden, slightly crisp top. It was, without question, the best muffin I’ve ever tasted, setting a new standard that others will struggle to meet.
The staff were warm and attentive, adding to the welcoming vibe, and the presentation of both the drink and muffin was nothing short of impeccable. Mukai clearly pours love and craftsmanship into every detail.
But here’s the unforgivable flaw: the fireplace was off. In a place that promises coziness in its very name, this was a criminal oversight. A roaring fire would have completed the experience, making it utterly perfect. For this grievous sin, I’m forced to leave a 2-star review, though the food and drink alone deserve a standing ovation.
Mukai Coffeehouse is a must-visit for anyone craving a transcendent coffee and pastry experience. Just bring a match and kindly insist they light that fireplace!
Tried it one more time today. Sandwhich was over microwaved. Cheese is like concrete. No egg…..please put some love into your product! You have a great location, great employees. The neighborhood would support you if you put a better product out.
