We stumbled upon this cute spot while trying to find a place to wait for our air bnb to be ready to check in. The staff there were fantastic! They were so friendly and funny and sweet. The service was great. The food was the Perfect homemade comfort style of food. Very good prices for a family of three to eat a good meal. They even drove us back to our air bnb if I could leave more than 5 stars I would!!

Nice small little home town feel restaurant. Only 1 waitress running place by herself doing an excellent job for the first 30 minutes of us being there. Kept drinks refilled. Large portions. Price was around 10 bucks for each meal. They use paper plates and Styrofoam cups.

Breakfast was fantastic! Eggs Benedict was great but the ham was a bit chewy. Hashbrowns were amazing.

5 Stars- THEY ARE OPEN TODAY GO NOW!!!

I find myself at that age where I can forget what I am doing while I am doing it. I mention this as I could not find my random name generator for the life of me and had work to do. While I didn’t find what I was looking for, I did find a few darts laying around so I set myself for a little belomancy when low and behold, I spied the device I was seeking behind a chair. Tossing the darts over my shoulder thinking as I did so it’s a good thing I don’t have any pets, I grabbed my name generator and headed to the Big Boy Mobile.

Pulling out of my domicile, I glanced down and was met by the blinking name of PSJ Lunchbox in Cocoa, FL. The address seemed familiar and it was then I realized this was a place formerly called “Jimmies”. Jimmie sold the business about a year or so now.

On first entering the joint I was pleasantly surprised with the Americana décor. With artwork depicting classic choppers to ’59 automobiles, this was a nostalgia lover’s paradise. I was soon approached by a wonderful lady named Lacy who introduced herself as our waitstaff for the meal. Hear ye! Hear Ye! I have to point out that Lacy is yet another early entry into the 3Q Best Wait Staff (the field is getting crowded, so you might want to get your tickets early). I placed an order for two items, the Cajun Benny and the tried and true diner staple of a Tuna Melt.

Lacy was soon seen hightailing it back to our table with a tray full of our food on…paper plates? Really? Can a restaurant that serves its fare on paper plates ever receive a 5-Star Big Boy Dining Out rating? The answer is an unequivocal and resounding YES!!! When we started this venture and continuing through today 6 years later it was and only is about the food. Service and ambiance be damned. Using this criteria and NONE OTHER, we have found some amazing food in tiny dives/dumps/hole-in-the-walls and atrocious offerings at elegant so-called “haute” cuisine joints. PSJ Lunchbox is the former and the food is unreal.

When a cook/chef love what they do or a restaurateur knows good food there should not be salt, pepper, or other condiments on the table. Upon first receiving the Cajun Benny, I was taken in by two things. First, the orange hollandaise sauce and secondly, the unseasoned potatoes. After a quick taste of the sauce, a light bulb went off in my head and I thought, “Genius! Pure genius!” The hollandaise sauce is so flavorful and rich you just dunk your spuds in it and it is gastronomical perfection. The biscuit, not an English muffin, was the real deal. It was golden brown, warm and flaky inside as a homemade biscuit should.

Moving on to the Tuna Melt. I found this to be perfection sandwichified. The bread was fresh and perfectly grilled, the cheese was real, not that fake American Processed Cheese Food and the accompanying SEASONED fries reaffirmed my theory on the Cajun Benny taters. My mother was a loving mom, albeit a lousy cook, but this meal was so comforting I dreamt of how fat I would have been at a young age if she could have cooked like this.

The Big Boy says, “Hey! What are you waiting for? You go now!”

Nice job re-opening this landmark spot. Everything was as expected, and the bonus was the portion size.

Service was outstanding, they kept my coffee topped off and the iced tea was flowing. Home fries could have been the only portion increase. The omelette was delicious nice pieces of ham sausage and bacon.

Will definitely be back.
