I was told about this place by my barber across the street a while back and I finally got a chance to go in with my kids. I thoroughly enjoyed the burger. Good quality patties on a soft roll. The fries were great and seasoned perfectly. I like the whole let’s just toss fries in and bag and serve it lol
The hot dog is a good classic beef dog with good melted cheese. My daughter loved the tenders.
Only thing I can’t really say I liked 100% was the Mac. I know it has great reviews but it def lacked actual cheese. The bacon was a bit too crispy. Maybe I’ll try it again but next time I’ll prob do the chili.
Def give em a try for a good burger and fries. The lemonade and iced tea were really good too.

If there’s one spot in the Milford/Stratford area that feels destined for a Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives cameo, it’s Heffer. A buddy and I rolled in right at open with zero menu research, and the owner immediately set the tone. He was welcoming and casually chaotic in the best way. He described choosing between the burger and the chicken sandwich as “McCauley Culkin or Jake Gyllenhaal,” which somehow made perfect sense and did not make the decision any easier.
I went full send and ordered The Heffer, which I think the owner called his signature (makes sense!). This beast was stacked so aggressively the potato bun barely stood a chance. It’s a messy eat (as the photo will confirm), but every bite hits: salty, sweet, beefy, rich, with everything melting together instead of fighting for attention. Indulgent in the “I regret nothing” way.
The “little” bag of fries could absolutely feed a family of four. Seasoned salt fries. Loved the seasoning, but would prefer an option. Especially with so many flavors from the burger.
My friend went with the chicken sandwich. Also solid. Crispy, juicy chicken with a great crunch, slaw that actually pulls its weight. Could use a slightly bigger bun.
Add in a spotless space, thoughtful decor, and good music you’ve got a place that feels dialed in from top to bottom.

I stopped here last night and ordered a burger, the Windy City dog, and mac & cheese. All tasted great, were fresh, and had a lot of flavor. Make sure you try out the tea and cheese corn as well. ☕ If you enjoy great food or just want a chill place, this is it. You will not be disappointed!!

Amazing place! Steve and his staff member were great! We split the fries, buttermilk chicken, build your own burger, and a delicious lemon pie. definitely need to visit this spot again!

Me my mother and my daughter stumbled on this place while visiting Stratford, Got to say initial appearance Great Clean environment , very homey vibe, the gentleman working the counter was very pleasant and excited about his product, they make almost all in house which is right up our alley , Got 2 heffers burgers which were. massive and flavorful, that bacon jam is money in the bank ! got the chili dog which was again huge Sabretts hot dog , sorry didn’t get to take pictures of burgers they were devoured rather rapidly. The fries were fresh and homemade, great there , lemonade was fresh, if you are into a little more of a tart lemonade this is for you, Got some cornbread donuts with the honey like butter , on point, plus while waiting we were given a banana pudding homemade which was out of this world delicious ! might be our new spot here great friendly service , great food , fresh , sign us up for a return!!!

The food was delicious!!! The owner is super nice and provides great service. The hamburger was top notch. The chicken sandwich looked underwhelming but the taste and quality was amazing!!! The fries were yummy, but next time I will ask it to be lightly seasoned. Go, you will not be disappointed. Quality is worth the price.

Heffers catered Mac salad, fried chicken, and macaroni and cheese casserole for our son’s second birthday. They included a nice card and a stuffed cow toy for him as week. Food was a hit and Steve and the team were wonderful throughout. Highly recommend for both food and catering!

A brand new gem in Stratford just steps from the train and absolutely worth the stop. The bold, charming illustrations first caught my eye online, and once I saw they added a veggie burger, I had to check it out. The interior is bright, modern, and full of personality. My burger? Bomb. Both kinds of fries? Even better with the Heffer sauce. Washed it all down with an unsweetened Arnold Palmer and ended on the perfect note with banana pudding (plus a Snickers treat to go). Great vibe, great food, and super friendly staff. I’ll be back.
