Trying Pompei in Elmwood Park for the first time! We started out with a fried calamari appetizer, excellent! We also ordered a small chopped chicken salad, it was very good. I ordered the streusel with ricotta cheese, spinach and mozzarella. I’m sorry to say I was not a fan of it. The ricotta cheese tasted spoiled, it just didn’t taste fresh, like it was sitting out there or dry. I don’t know what it was, but I will not be ordering that again. I brought it up to their attention, but they didn’t seem to care.
My husband ordered the meat lasagna. He said it was OK, but he wouldn’t order it again.
We got there about 1:30 in the afternoon. It was dead in there. I think there
were two other people in there besides us. I have been at the Pompeii on Taylor Street. It’s different. They have a big display on Taylor street, where Elmwood Park did not and I honestly think I prefer the one on Taylor Street over the Elmwood Park location. For dessert we tried the tiramisu. Let’s just say I wouldn’t order it again. it looked amazing and one of the reason we ordered the tiramisu, but looks can be deceiving. Pompei bakery in Elmwood Park is located in the circle near the village Hall parking is not fun over there. You had to go around a couple times to find a spot and the parking couldn’t have been all for Pompei bakery since they’re only about four people, including us in there. So I would say It’s a bit of a challenge around there to park. now here’s the real question would I go back to the one in Elmwood Park. NO! Really sorry to say I was disappointed.

Pompei finally came back to the suburbs of Chicago in Elmwood Park. Before I knew about this location I used to always go to the one in Schaumburg and Taylor St. Now that it’s closer to where I live I’ll be going there whenever I have a chance. Their Pizza and Pasta is really good. I always get to Gnocchi in Vodka Sauce and Baked Mostaccioli for my Mom, plus some Pizza. Will be going back soon. Another thing I almost forgot to mention is that they have a window to where if you order ahead you can pick it up there.

Its the same wonderful food and service of Pompei on Taylor, but in a more relaxed, comfortable, and safer suburban environment. The food is all absolutely delicious, yep, everything is very good. Fresh and home cooked Italian food at a very reasonable price. Service is terrific, they are friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is cute and comfortable, can’t wait till next summer to sit outside and enjoy the food and area at the same time. You gotta stop, this place is amazing! It will not disappoint………

Pompei is truly one of the best new additions to the community. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the quality of the building itself. Everything feels brand new, thoughtfully designed, and built with comfort in mind. It is a place where you immediately feel welcome and relaxed
On this visit, I ordered the meatball sandwich, and it exceeded every expectation. The meatballs were large, perfectly seasoned, and smothered in just the right amount of marinara sauce. The bread they use deserves special mention because it held up beautifully and added the perfect texture to the sandwich. Hearty, flavorful, and filling, this was the definition of comfort food done right
We also ordered the cheese pizza, and I can say without hesitation that it is the best in the entire community. The cheese was clearly high quality, rich, and flavorful, while the crust was simply amazing. Light, crisp, and perfectly baked, it is rare to find a pizza that gets both the toppings and the crust just right, but Pompei achieved it
For dessert, we tried the Taylor Street cheesecake, which was absolutely phenomenal. Creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced, it was the kind of dessert that makes you stop mid-bite just to appreciate it. A perfect ending to an already stellar meal
Beyond the food, what really stood out to me was the service and atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and professional. They are clearly well staffed, which makes the experience smooth and enjoyable. Combine that with the warm, high quality environment, and it is clear Pompei is raising the standard for dining in this area
One of the most surprising parts of the visit was how reasonably priced everything was. The food quality is top tier, yet the prices are very affordable, which makes this not just a great place for special occasions but also a regular go to spot. Once word spreads in the community, I can see Pompei quickly becoming the staple destination for everyone
Overall, Pompei delivers on every level. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, the service is outstanding, and the setting is beautiful, all at an affordable price point. If I could rate it higher than five stars, I absolutely would. On my next visit, I look forward to trying some of the other amazing dishes I saw being served

Taylor Street legend in Elmwood Park! So much to choose from. Authentic pizza, pasta, salads, and soups. Sandwiches and strudels. Beer, wine, and espresso. Tiramsu and biscotti. Order at the counter and get served at the table. Friendly and helpful service. Restaurant is bright, open, and super clean. Also have takeout and delivery options.

Pompei! I love you! Food was amazing as I remembered it. First time trying Elmwood pk. Location. Everything came hot fresh and fast. Delivery driver was very nice. Kelly took my order she was great. The provider who treated us was disappointed with her beef strudel little too much fat on it for her taste. Her first time trying restaurant. But all in all I’m in my happy place. Thank you!

Normally Pompeii’s has had excellent food. However, we had a delivery this weekend that was very disappointing. The meatballs tasted compact and Frozen, the pizza was just okay and the pasta was okay. Not like the several times we’ve had before. Excellent it was not. Hopefully it was just a one-off.

I went to Pompei Elmwood and ordered a 16-inch round pizza with sausage, garlic, and onion—well done—and it came out absolutely perfect. The pizza was super good. We also got the gnocchi with vodka sauce, which was fantastic. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the interior has modern yet cozy pizzeria vibes. I will definitely be back. Great for all occasions.

Not the type of restaurant we were expecting when we made a reservation online. There was no one at the door to greet you or seat you. It’s a fast food restaurant and you order at the counter. We finished our meals long before the pizza for the kids came.. A place for lunch or a quick stop but not a nice restaurant to go out to eat at.
