The spot itself is small, clean, and unassuming, no flash, no gimmicks. Counter-style, quiet hum of ovens working, the smell of fermenting dough and bubbling sauce in the air. The kind of place where the pizza is supposed to do the talking… and boy, does it ever.
I had:
• A small plain cheese
• A small secret menu pizza (ssshhhhh…)
The plain cheese was everything you want in a pizza and then some. Built on a three-day fermented dough, that alone tells you the level of care here. Chris’ standard is simple: If the dough isn’t perfect, it doesn’t get sold. Most people would never even know the difference, but that’s not good enough for him. That’s craftsmanship.
The sauce was a perfect sweet-acid balance with that deep umami punch only great tomatoes deliver. The cheese? Bubbly, creamy, smooth. This pizza is an exercise in perfect simplicity, nothing to hide behind, nowhere to cheat. The crust brings a clean crunch and that subtle tang that only cold fermentation gives you.
Now the secret menu vodka chicken pizza…
Homemade vodka sauce.
Homemade chicken cutlets.
Dollops of fresh ricotta added post-bake.
This thing was a full symphony:
• Sweet
• Acidic
• Cool
• Warm
• Crunchy
• Creamy
Every note in tune. Nothing fighting for attention. Just harmony.
And Chris? He is pure passion. Everything is made in-house, and you can taste that intention in every layer of the pie. No shortcuts. No autopilot. Just pride.
My recommendation:
Get down there. Try the pizza. Talk to Chris.
You will not be disappointed
In looking at their menu, there is lots to offer. I look forward to returning and to try something else!
The owner and his sister were there. Down to earth, genuine people. We chatted briefly. The restaurant is quaint and nicely appointed.
If you are in the area, definitely give them a try.
Classic cheese pie one of the best I’ve had.
New Haven style apizza.
You know it’s good when it’s fresh and hot you know it’s really good when you can reheat and still enjoy
Meatball sub ok but not as mind blowing great as the pizza.
Small resto with 3 booths.
Highly recommended.
Dough was perfect, customer service A++. Couldn’t ask for a better experience and I look forward to coming back soon!
