I tried this place for the first time through take out and wow! If it is good during takeout, I can’t imagine if I dined in! The bacon wrapped dates were amazing. The fish taco was good but I might try something else next time instead!
Would have liked server to check on us mid meal re: more drinks, dessert, etc – but their system had you place your order at counter so you don’t have typical wait staff.
Definitely coming back.
I love the look of the restaurant as it is in a.Historic building. Has that early 1900 vibe.
They have a Happy Hour from 4-6 items that arent on their posted menu so look at the small sign posted on the tables.. also they posted up a sign in the front of their restaurant on the sidewalk after we entered with a bunch of other menu items that are on their regular menu.
As far as our food goes, burger was average the chicken sliders, wete very dry, wife, had to use some of my mayonnaise from my burger, there there was no ranch to be found on there. Both the cajun, sweet potato fries and my waffle fries with my burger. Seemed like they had been cooked too long.
And on their menu online , on their website they had soup listed, wife asked about the soup, they said they had none today. I was really looking forward to this restaurant due to all of the reviews on Facebook. I left there feeling let down , i really hope this restaurant improves, being in a small town., small business
Plenty of tables for families to sit, they’ve got great food options to choose from. Their waffle fries rival any restaurant within 100 miles! Prices are fair, staff is friendly and once your inside you forget you’re in a small town.
Definitely the place to go on a date, lunch stop or to try something new.
Went here on a whim with a friend from out of town and SO GLAD we did. She’s vegetarian, so my usual BBQ wasn’t happening, but Capricious was AMAZING. Pretty much everything about the experience was wonderful. The staff were super attentive, the atmosphere/vibe was nice, seating cosy & comfy, and the food? Oh man was the food awesome!!
First off we split the cauli bites, which were surprisingly good to this guy who doesn’t like cauliflower. . I had the pork tacos (shown) which came with a pickled pineapple. I was hesitant at first, not liking either pineapple not pickles , but as soon as I tasted it was love at first bite! Super filing (I only managed 2 of the 3, which means I have an awesome lunch for tomorrow too), savory and just enough of a spicy kick to enjoy but not too much. Absolutely 10/10 delicious. My side of sweet potato fries paired well.
She had the portobello burger and reported it to be excellent =as well. A couple of tasty beverages also hit the spot (and there were a LOT of choices, including some locally made and some very interesting hard sodas that I’ll be trying next time).
Prices were VERY reasonable, maybe even a little low for the quantity and QUALITY of the food. I felt we absolutely got our money’s worth.
We did have a brief chance to chat with the owner as we were wrapping up our meal and she was super personable and obviously passionate about her meals and our enjoyment. It was cool to find out that she’s been a local her whole life and is also very involved in giving back to the community, so that’s a bonus as well in my book.
We both just had an absolutely wonderful time overall and my only regret is that I didn’t try this place sooner. Looking forward to coming back soon to make up for lost time!
