Alright friends, let’s show this place some love! When I stopped by Hawaii Express Poke & Grill today during peak lunch hour, it was surprisingly quiet and it definitely shouldn’t be.
The restaurant is set up like a Subway-style line where they build your bowl right in front of you. I went with the build-your-own poke bowl, which starts with your choice of rice, noodles, or greens, then you pick your protein (raw or cooked), plus fruit and veggie mix-ins, sauces, and crunchy toppings.
My bowl: white rice, edamame, corn, cilantro, avocado, teriyaki salmon, yum yum sauce, and crispy tempura crunch. So much flavor, and the salmon pieces were big and generous. Easily enough for two meals.
I also grabbed a POG juice which is a Hawaiian classic made with passion fruit, orange, and guava and it was insanely refreshing.
They also offer a great selection of starters, hot plates, and grilled items that you’ll find on the menu.
I could keep going, but I’ll just drop a pic of the menu in the comments. Trust me, y’all need to check this place out!

This place is great. I typically get a poke bowl, and the fish is always fresh. Same with veggies. There is a good array of sauces to choose from, as well, and the workers are helpful and friendly.
Most recently, I got a bowl with brown rice, salmon, spicy tuna, and tofu, along with cucumber, onion, and cilantro. Finished with wasabi mayo and their house sauce. It was perfect. Filling, but still a light meal – so you won’t feel sluggish afterward.

Had a great lunch at this unassuming little joint, close to the casino. The young woman running the front of the restaurant was the owner, who answered all my questions, patiently and professionally. We’re visiting from Missouri and finding such a gem in AR was a great surprise. I had the “Love Poke” bowl and my mom had the Hula chicken with grilled veggies. We also shared an order of Spam musubi.
My 90 yr. old mamá said she wasn’t “very hungry” after hitting the slots for a few hours, but she positively demolished the Hula chicken!
All the ingredients in the he Poke bowl were fresh, delicious and just enough. And for people complaining about the price, if you want cheap food with processed ingredients, go to Sonic. Everything here is crafted and hand assembled and it shows. A++++ experience

Stopped by for lunch today and we had no clue what to order but the guys working helped us decide and were super friendly and patient. We ended up getting the southern bowl with an order of bang bang shrimp plus spring rolls to share and it was soooo good. Plenty of food for the both of us and everything was so perfectly balanced and fresh! We’ll definitely be back soon!

All of the food at this place is great, but yesterday I tried the wings for the first time. Hands down, best wings in Hot Springs. The fry was perfect, they were not oversauced. The flavor was unique. I lament often that I’m not a fan of the wings in Hot Springs. I no longer will be doing that and will simply buy wings from Hawaii Express.

Great little place for fresh Poke. I had been wanting to try them out since opening. Finally made it by. First impression Clean facility and the staff was friendly. I was immediately greeted upon arrival and they were very patient as I navigated the “build your bowl” menu options. I ordered the Ahi poke bowl with several options, also ordered a piece of the hula chicken to give it a try.
I am not only a restaurant owner but also a captain of an offshore fishing vessel so to say I am critical of fish quality and freshness would be an understatement. To my surprise the tuna was fresh in appearance and flavor as were the other ingredients. The chicken was good, traditional Polynesian style (sweet and sticky) nice flavor throughout. Overall a great experience with a nice vibe of the tropics in both food and atmosphere. Keep up the good work

Great tasting food, generous protein portions, efficient and clean operations with an open kitchen, thoughtful amenities like a customer hand wash station, high quality to-go utensils, convenient kiosk ordering, and a menu with diverse options covering savory to sweet. This place gets it all right at a very affordable price point. Great job to the 2 men running this establishment!

One of my favorite restaurants in Hot Springs. Everything is as fresh as you could expect given the geography. I alway do the “ Build Your Own”. Add a mix of the Ginger and Gochujang Sauce. If you like poke you will like this place.
