This place utterly ROCKS!
If you pass by and not stop because of traffic or whatever other excuse you may have you are an utter moron. Sorry to offend, just being really passionate about a good ‘hole in the wall’ fun find. We had the fresh catch Ahi Pesto burger on special + the Kahlua Pork nachos . So much flavor and tender.
My only disappointment was in the Lemon ginger martini, great flavor but a wee bit too weak for me so I had to have them put another shot in it. For the $ I want a strong drink. ‍♀️
Great owner and chill atmosphere.

Great food and prices. Surprisingly creative menu and by far the best nachos I’ve ever eaten. The only downside I’ve seen so far are the limited hours

Ample parking, indoor and covered outdoor seating, good selection of drinks at a reasonable price aswell

Super chill, great food, good live music. Burgers are local beef. Ahi nachos are a must. Fun drinks with local flavors.

Probably the best burger on the island.

The other three members of my party also all agreed that the food was amazing.

The firecracker sauce while not particularly spicy, was delicious. The burger was also juicy and perfectly cooked. Would drive out to get this again in a heartbeat. As of reviewing it has 4.8 stars and it is well deserved.

We were looking for a late lunch spot near Pahoa and most places were closed and then we came upon Bite The Eye. It’s a covered outdoors bar and tables restaurant. The food and drinks were great. We ordered the pork, the poke and blackened ahi, along with a side of kimchi. It was all quite tasty. We were there for their 2-5 pm happy hour which is 15% off everything. We tried the gimlet cocktail and some type of fruit cocktail. Both legit good. A great place to stop! Only downside is they only have port-a-potties, but that’s not really a big deal.

Stopped by on Saturday evening before they closed, lot had at least 4 cars, open sign was fully lit ect. 0 staff around, no one came out to help or take an order. Followed the signs and stood in front of the open kitchen windows for close at least 5 min, no one was inside or outside of it. Went to the bar/music area, same thing. All that I could find was a musician packing his equipment. Left disappointed and without being able to find anyone who identified as an employee.

Nice folks, cool location, and great poke.

I meant to ask them about why there are so many businesses right of the hwy. Interesting. Of course we are tourists. We drove from Kona, around the south side to see volcano, but we needed some meats! We tried a place by the volcano, but they were slammed, and stressed. So we decided to take the drive 40 mins down hill to visit Bite the Eye for poke and were pleasantly surprised. Kind folks here really.
I would drive an hour to get those Poke nachos again. DAM! That was some of the best I have had in my life, seriously. Keep doing what you are doing at the prices you are doing it at. You will succeed, and grow your customer base. Thank you all for this great visit. I can salivate about those nachos all the way from Oregon……ugh, I need to return for more!!!

It’s a very fun location. With tasty food. I was lame and had the cheeseburger and forecracker fries. The rest of my party had poke, kaluha pork and lomi, which they said was excellent!

Bite the Eye is a cool new venue. Located before or after the Ainaloa roundabout, depending on which way you are coming from Hwy 130. Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11am to 9pm. Great food, cocktails and live music I recommend the BTE tri tip tacos Come check it out.

Fun, open air atmosphere. Friendly helpful staff. Had the Puna Tuna Tacos which were great! Full bar and good food! I have to try the firework fries next time though! They sound yummy!

EDIT: we’ve been back several times and yes! Have the Firework Fries! And everything else! They’ve got a good thing going here! Glad they’re here!!
