I stumbled in expecting the usual pastries—but what I found? Culinary magic.
They’ve got this biscuit wrap that sounds insane on paper: mashed potatoes, garlic, wrapped in a fluffy, golden biscuit. I almost didn’t order it. Almost.
But wow. One bite and I was in disbelief. It was warm, savory, rich in flavor, and ridiculously satisfying. Comfort food meets gourmet in the best way. It shouldn’t work… but it absolutely does.
Every item we tried was handmade, hearty, and full of flavor. You can tell they don’t cut corners—this is real food made by people who care.
If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and grab breakfast here. Come hungry—you’ll leave full and happy.

We stayed in Cortez, CO on our way to Mesa Verde and I looked up a bakery to stop at. The Pie Maker had great reviews and looked friendly! They were open for order pickups on Saturday, we were there on Tuesday. I reached out before we left on our road trip and they stayed in touch with me and we arranged a time I could pick up our order.
The mini strawberry-rhubarb pies are great you’ll taste both flavors! The mini apple pie crumble is crunchy and there’s a little extra cinnamon kick with the apples. We also got some cookies. The molasses cookies were awesome, and the peanut butter cookies deserve a big glass of milk! Excellent customer care and friendly shop!

Very friendly local coffee house with cold brew coffee infused with nitrogen – amazingly smooth and tasty! They have a light menu with bagels, sandwiches, quiches, and sweet baked goods. And of course they make excellent pie.

Really lovely bakery and Cafe where everything is house made using many local and organic ingredients. No espresso machine but several house made cold brew options on a nitro tap as well as teas. My bagel was pretty good, I would have preferred more toasting, and the green chilie cream cheese was v tasty. I ended up blending the vanilla and honey cold brews for a unique and delicious eye opening drink.

We got lucky and went in a Saturday when they were open. Seems like you must order ahead online for pickup unless you get lucky like we did today. We bought the last peanut butter cookie, 2 chocolate eclairs and 2 carrot cake muffins. OMG they were all SUPER DELICIOUS!!! We immediately looked at their website and made an order to pickup next Sat. I guess it’s good they are only open on Saturdays or we would be in there too often for our own good. They are sooo delicious!! Love Love Love their baking !!!!!

Had a great breakfast. Wonderful place. Great crust on the pie and quiche. Good soup. Only wish the selection on sweet pie was more than one type. I understand though because it’s off season and a random Wednesday. The owners are really nice and kind. Everything is homemade. The coffee is great too. All in all a fantastic experience. Highly recommend.
